Got rid of annoying Bixby

I started to try to take a photo and stupid Bixby photo popped up and I couldn't get rid of it. Went online and found that someone recommended BK Package Disabler. Cost $1.49 but I downloaded it and now Bixby is in a deep sleep. I'll wake him up when he is less intrusive.

What exactly happened when you say Bixby photo popped up?

I haven't had such situations but curious to know more to see where we can help!

I have no idea. I opened my camera app to take a picture and Bixby was there and it wanted access to all my photos etc. It was a Bixby Camera app it looks like. I even took a picture with it and it still was there. I couldn't get back to my straight camera app. I turned the phone off and on, opened my camera app and it was still there.

The only Bixby item in the camera app is Bixby vision and you can just cut that off.

It doesn't do anything. Just presents a talk button and says it's ready. Disconnecting for 3rd time.

I've been having the same issue. Bixby launching randomly while phone is just sitting on the table. sometimes getting a call launches it and I'm unable to clear it in time to answer the call!

Just download BK Package Disabler, Works like a dream to get rid of my Bixby curse. Thank you for the suggestion

Bixby sucks!! When I ask it a question, it wants to take me to the web and shows me everything but what I ask for. I can ask for the weather, it will take me to a clothing site... it will just come on whenever it chooses. I can try to get it to come on, it won't... my co worker across the room can be talking and it pick up what she says... I have to say Iphone's Siri is the top dog on this fight.... I just rather do without Bixby...

It does disable the Bixby button, and you can re-enable when you want to. Nothing is permanent if you don't want it to be.

vast majority of users worldwide, doesn't use these useless apps

like Google assistant and now that infamous Bixby - There're

I forced stopped all the bixby in my app settings.
Everytime I asked a simple question I get here's what I found on the web.
Other times I'd repeat bixby over and over and no response at all.
And finally, having a conversation with friends or co workers, bixby interrupts and ask to "repeat that" or "I didn't catch that" continuesly over and over.
Very disapointed with bixby and sometimes was embarrassed around Apple folks.
However, I love my S8!

In my experience it doesn't do this on a consistent basis. When it responds to oral directions (and that's when) the wrong app opens or opens for a millisecond. I respect your experience might be different.

Be careful when you say "vast majority of users worldwide" when you really mean "me and some people I know"

I love Google assistant and use it every single day for a number of different things. So in a sample size of 2 you already don't have a vast majority. I'm not saying that that you have to like it, but I'm saying that you shouldn't project your opinions onto the majority.

Same. I look down and there Bixby is. Not like "Bixby" is a normal word in conversation, either.

Why can't we do like Blackberry did with the Keyone and let us program the Bixby button to whatever we wish. Bixby is junk.
