Got rid of annoying Bixby

Why can't we do like Blackberry did with the Keyone and let us program the Bixby button to whatever we wish. Bixby is junk.

Samsung would be admitting defeat if they did that. It's not in their best interest as a company to allow you to ignore Bixby.

You used to be able to do that on the Active variants. When I got my S5 Active I set it to launch the camera. But Samsung in their infinite arrogance decided to force Bixby on people. Sounds to me like it's no better than S-Voice, which I could never fully disable. My S5 Active also was not waterproof, and after 2 -1/2 years it just drowned this past weekend in a mudhole while I was at an ATV Poker run. Turns out my waterproof glovebox isn't waterproof either. Along with the waterproof bag that I put my now-also-dead Lumia 950 in. Yes, I had two phones with me and killed them both, it's complicated. I'm turning in the 950 on insurance and hoping they send me an LG of some sorts, because I'm done with Samsung's bloatware. Not trying to go off-topic, just lending credence to the whole Samsung habit of forcing their genius on you. It's a shame their software sucks, they make nice hardware.

I have it disabled with Package Disabler pro, such a stupid and useless feature for me. If I wanted Siri I would have stayed on iOS years ago.

My bixby supposedly hears it's name all the time and just pops up to "help" me. I haven't tried any yet but in the play store there are alot of bixy apps to remap/disable the button.

I've been listening to an audiobook during my commute and I swear Bixby pops up every three minutes in response to things the narrator says!

Just download BK Package Disabler, Works like a dream to get rid of my Bixby curse. Thank you for the suggestion

Exactly what I did. Samsung makes it difficult to eliminate. You can go to apps and in most cases use force stop. I preferred your idea of using the disabler.

When using I found it best to put Bixby in search and then check the whole list.

Absolutely the worst program I've ever used.

I have mine disabled and blocked by the firewall, so never get a peep out of him/her.

Bixby sucks!! When I ask it a question, it wants to take me to the web and shows me everything but what I ask for. I can ask for the weather, it will take me to a clothing site... it will just come on whenever it chooses. I can try to get it to come on, it won't... my co worker across the room can be talking and it pick up what she says... I have to say Iphone's Siri is the top dog on this fight.... I just rather do without Bixby...

I agree. I think I am done with Samsung now that they force Bixby down your throat. What a joke.

The app was blocked for a couple hours then the developer bypassed Samsungs feeble attempt.

Well, she /he is not dead after all I started to take a picture and it popped back up! not happy!
Any suggestions?
