Got the 2.11.605.5 OTA. Here's what's NOT fixed:

For me, two things.

- Notification bar ghosting when using some 3rd party skins (not present in Froyo)

- Sound volume significantly lower

(I tellya, I'd go back to Froyo in a heartbeat if it were available to a non-root.There's just been NO benefit to Gingerbread for me at all).
In case you havent resolved your volume issues, heres a possible fix.

We have two Thunderbolts on our plan and one suddenly started going quiet. Had it replaced but then it suddenly started doing it again. Apparently there is a hidden "system" volume that apps can have access to, but you dont have access to. To gain access, download an volume management app. I recommend "Audio Manager". Go ahead and crank up "system" and see if that resolves your issues.

Before we all go insane with the ringtone thing. I had one for my wife calling me. After the first GB update it was defaulting to the stock ringtone I use. I just got the 13.9mb new GB update. I had my wife call me, wrong ringtone. I changed it to something else and had her call me and it actually used the custom ringtone I wanted instead of the one I had just reset. Weird. Then I edited my Contact for her back to the custom ringtone I want and it worked fine. I don't know if it will stick. I'll have to see after a reboot, but for now, it appears GB needs to be trained to use the custom ringtones you had set in FroYo. That would suck if you use a lot of them. For me, I just have to reset my Mom and my brother and work and I'm good to go.

Have not received the update. When I go to software update and select "Check new" a pop up comes up that reads "Software Update - Checking for new software available now". Then the pop up disappears and nothing happens. When I select "Status" all of the fields are blank except for Source: Verizon Wireless

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Turn your phone off pull battery and SIM card for 5 minutes. It should reset your for update. Check for update after powering back up. If it's not there check again every ? hour.

That could explain why it works for me in my tests. I never set a contact specific ringtone until after I upgraded to GB (and followed the ringtones folder instructions).

I can't view over half my videos on the stock video player after the update. But I can on other video players still. Anyone else have this problem?

The first GB update worked great and this new one works even better. I love this piece of sh.......t.

One thing that still seems to be broken that no one seems to mention is the snoozing of calendar reminders. The initial reminder always pops, but hit snooze and it never comes back. Started that with the first "upgrade" to GB and still persists.
After reading this post I tested mine, and got the same results as you. I had no idea that was broke. I guess 'cuz I virtually never hit snooze. But, try as I might, I could never get it to work. I tried setting it to Alarm rather than Notification bar, tried changing the sound, tried not hitting snooze, just ignoring it, tried "add a reminder", everything I could think of. Snooze seems to be just plain inop. How the heck did that happen?

Ringtones not right still and switch between contacts instead of staying with the contact you set it for.

Add this...

The pause dialing to add your PIN to the *86 for Voice Messaging does not work.

Spent a bit of time on the phone with Tier 2 at Verizon, who in turn called HTC.

According to HTC, this is a known problem and they are not sure when they are going to fix it.

Nothing like going backwards in features and functionality.

Simply AMAZING!!!

My *86pxxxx works fine from the "voicemail" in my contacts.

Has never worked using the Voice Mail app/icon. Haven't found how to same the "pxxxx".

Still get data drops, just not as much as previous GB...so data connectivity is probably about on par with Froyo. 4G still not that consistent but that's verizon's ty 4G service.

Battery life very much improved over Froyo. Froyo on 4G you could pretty much watch the battery indicator drop while you used your phone.

Damn, I keep forgetting to mention my email issue here. My email will not sync while I'm connected via WiFi. Works fine in 3G, but will NOT update automatically via WiFi. That's been since the first GB OTA too.

Well, thats something I didnt notice but may explain some of the quirkiness Ive seen. I have my cell on Wifi most of the time (home and work) and only go to 3G when Im out and about (no 4G here or planned for here). The stupid thing wouldnt get email all day and then out of the blue pop, one would show up. I will play with the wifi/3g and see if i see any patterns too.

I di d a factory reset on the first GB release and it didnt fix it. Please let us know if you do a reset and if it works before I go through that again.

One other idea, my emails worked until they forced facebook and tunewiki to be active all the time. I used to be able to kill those programs in froyo but now they just come right back in GB. Yes, I am reaching for straws :)

Sounds like our habits are the same. During the workweek I go from Wifi to Wifi - home to office. I'll see an email notification suddenly be present on my notification bar, go and look at it and see it's from hours before .. when I likely was on 3G for a while. Sounds like we're talking about the same thing.

Day off scheduled for Friday, so I'll likely do the reset then - or perhaps Thursday night, with Friday to rebuild. ;-)

it's here - Menu > Settings > Call > Voicemail Settings > touch down arrow > edit the voicemail number, there is a button to insert pauses, plus the numbers

coincidentally, this is the same, whether on Froyo or GB... so you never had it set since you got the phone? The update does wipe the setting, but it's fixable

It makes a difference. After the initial download I had to do it as well. But not with the fix
And the Thunder rolls !

I had the same problem...lost connection and the download corrupted. Called Verizon and they stated that I had to do a facroty reset to clear the corrupted file. Once I did that the download went smoothly...took a while but it worked. also be aware you will need to have your phone plugged in. It almost drained my battery.

I don't have any of the problems listed but I installed a rooted .5 image and fully wiped beforehand, I know everyone hates when people say just root it, but in my experience things run better that way
