GPS constantly searing ... recent issue.

So I'm having an issue with the GPS on my Droid RAZR MAXX. The connectivity icon comes and goes during the day. I haven't paid much attention to this as my GPS works fine for navigation and other apps like Strava (cycling). However, I've noticed that my battery drain has been quicker than normal lately due to "GSam Battery Monitor." Today was the final straw ... I want from 92% at the beginning of my work day down to 70% in 6 hours while on AIRPLANE MODE. Under "App Usage" the Kernel is using 21.9% of my battery during that time. Any suggestions? Sounds like a rogue app going nuts. I'd recommend uninstalling any apps that use the GPS. I know Facebook is notorious for this. Uninstall the apps, and then one-by-one install them, and see which one ends up giving you trouble.
