Green Signal Bars?

Hey all I got a Note for xmas. Loving it so far. Entered my APN settings and everythings been working fine, sms, mms, phone calls. I get the 3G and H symbols also. One thing I have noticed however is that my signal bars always stay grey. They never turn green. I believe this change came with Gingerbread and it means your connected to Google or something. Is there something wrong, or is it just how the phone is?

Unfortunately they do not change. Kinda bugs me as I would really like to know at a glance if there is a data problem. Hopefully Samsung will keep that feature in the ICS update.
