I'm across the street from you according to my GPS. But I'm actually in Baltimore!

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Well, I finally have some down time from work. I'm getting ready to switch up to Jelly Bean. But, I'd like to see if I can get a few questions answered so that I can hopefully minimize any problems.

The first is, do I need to rooted, and have the bootloader unlocked prior to installing Jelly Bean?

Are there any differences to doing these things when I'm on a Mac that I need to know?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

This might help
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e....gpsstatus2&feature=nav_result&token=4bqIwio3

you'll want to open up TOOLS and select Manage A-GPS State.

anyone have a solution for the Roaming Indicator Off in the shade of the notification?

ive cleared everything and flashed the v2 rom again but the issue is still there. should i just roll back to 4.0.4 and try again?

it was working fine until i left home and traveled to another city about two hours away.

need help!

We have seen the other 5 times and 4 threads you've asked...lol... nobody has much idea though. These are risky, experimental ROMs, and everyone's experience is going to be different. Sorry I can't be of more help..

How we feeling about vicious v3, crackflashers? Thinking I'm gonna flash it in a little bit. I saw before about maps/GPS, which is sketchy on all these ROMs.. any other issues or are those who flashed it happy ? :)

Try GPS status from the Play store. That worked for me. (though i haven't tested it long distance yet)

There's sometimes some lag when opening Google Now, but otherwise it's fine. I haven't had any of the GPS issues on any of the ROMs I've tried.

Have you used it for Navigation? I've seen very, very few success stories with that...in fact you might be the first. What's your setup? This is cramping my whole "search for electricity/wifi" thing BIG time.

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

I haven't tried Navigation (haven't had a reason to yet). I'm on Vicious V3 with the bundled kernel.

The camera seems worse after flashing to jelly bean. Slower and lower quality. Any suggestions?

Downloaded the GPS tool. Will power down, charge, and try that for my next adventure (probably into Virginia).

Word... I thought my GPS has seemed solid but zooming in on Maps I noticed it will get a small radius but not lock in like it should, and as dmmarck said its probably more noticeable for navigating. Oh well, lol.

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Also, since I ran around with navigation for 2 hours while braving the wiles of the storm, it WILL lock in after 10-15 minutes...for a minute. Then revert to insanity.

For those wanting to get crazy, here's another kernel to try...

Will update the OP when I can has solid electrical currents.

btw trinity is wicked

ALSO, apparently GPS is off for all roms, jelly bean or ics. Just saw reports on aokp and liquid having the same issue.

Maps update to blame?
