[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Dmmarck... numbers keep going up... on the latest build :-).

I should also note that my CPU temps are quite cool with consistent use with this latest jelly belly build and Franco 210 Linaro build.

I'm getting like 1300 benchmark on mine. I'm assuming something is wrong lol?

Just converted to JB last night, haven't had much time to play with it, but love it so far. Wondering if i should switch out from franco kernal, it appears yes is the answer...

Yes lol

Note - there is a JB14, but if you attempt to change a setting it goes crazy and you need a battery pull. Stick to JB13 :-)

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

So into only is Jelly Belly 1.8 out, but apparently Apex Launcher has been updated to work on JB. guests there's a couple things for me to play around with today! ^_^

Also, I've been staying on the kernel included in Jelly Belly, is there something better I should switch to?

Trinity. :-)

For those using or wanting to use JB14 and wanting to change the settings in his app, disable smart reflex for the mpu first. Apparently the app acts a fool past 1420 mhz.

I'll look into Trinity. Are there any specific settings for it in the app I should change to get it to work better, or can I just flash it and not worry about any of that?

If you don't have his app then I have no idea, but presumably you wouldn't have to worry. It wouldn't hurt to turn off smart reflex (for the MPU) if you had franco's app in order to set the CPU past 1420 MHz.

If you want neither of those, don't worry :). I'm on the 1689 MHz (max) JB14 myself. Won't put it at that level unless I wanna get nuts.

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

just tried to download the 1344 version of JB14 a couple of times, and the hash didnt match either time :o
going back to non-linaro stock jb kernel, i dont need the juice, just want happy battery life and sub-120 degree operation

From his app or the link?

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

It's definitely a piece of cake, and the best part is that after doing it once or twice while glancing at a guide for reference, you start to go "oh, that makes total sense." It just keeps getting better from there. I had read most of the guides on AC/RW/XDA, but none of them quite fit with my mentality and so I didn't quite understand it all.

Unlocked, rooted, and flashed a ROM, kernel, and radios, and it made complete sense. :)

Did it last night and it was so easy. My biggest issue was a driver error when trying to create a nandroid backup, but a lot of XP users apparently had the same issue so google easily got me the information I needed. The process was so simple with these excellent guides to go from and all the work the developers have done. I can't think of an easier process really. Truly awesome. Getting ready to do a kernal and some other things.

Just a few questions I have regarding all of these new never-ending updates...
First of all, before last night I couldn't get a quadrant above 2500. I flashed the Franco r210 linaro kernel and got to 34xx.
I don't have the Trinity kernel, since it looked like everyone was downloading it through the app, which I have yet to purchase before I try out the kernel personally. Is there a link to the official JB14 kernel? I downloaded one last night and when I installed it, it basically said" BOOM... you have successfully corrupted your system. Please panic now. " WTF is that all about. That's when I immediately flashed the Franco kernel.

What OC settings is everyone using to get 4000 scores?

Also, maybe a dumb question, but need to ask...it seems that these builds are no longer considered stock ROMs anymore. I am running Vicious v2 since it was available. Are full wipes required from moving between ROMs now? In the first fee days of the release of Jellybean this didn't seem to be the case.
Thanks.

Wow, didn't realize there were so many different Trinity kernels to choose from... I don't really know which one to choose. What difference does the CPU setting make? Are any more "stable" or better performing (well, my only real concern is battery life) than any others?

LOL that's morfic's sense of humor. Did it reboot and give you a trinity boot animation? If so you're good to go :).

For OC settings, I presume they're at 1500 + MHz with either ondemand or performance governors.

For wiping, yes, I'd still wipe when going between roms (so VanirBEAN to ENGAGE). But if you're going from V3 to V4 or something like that, wiping only cache/dalvik should be sufficient. Like anything, though, if you don't start off 100% clean (meaning you didn't wipe data), you may have a few bugs lying around.

I went with 1689. Presumably the 1344 (or whatever is 13XX) is the "bulletproof" one with it getting "more experimental" as you creep up in max CPU potential.

And it makes it faster the higher you go (if you set it higher), but it also drains the battery quicker.
