[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

I am having an issue with the messaging app. This is happening on Vicious Version 1 and on the pure stock rom that the OP mentioned. What happens is I type a name, for example my dad 'Steve' in the messaging app as to send him a message, and when it puts his name up as a recipient, it puts his number in completely wrong, even though in his contact card his phone number is right. an example: Correct number in the card: 1(661)-555-5555. When i select his name though, it puts this number at the top of the messaging app 1615555. So without noticing, I will send a message to this weird number that is not even saved in my phone, therefore I never hear back from my father. Anyone else having an issue similar to this?

I am about to try Version 2 of Vicious now, then flash the stock kernel. I will post back here if the problem is or is not resolved.

Anyone with a guess as to why my battery is draining so quick?

Running Vicious Jelly Bean with the franco kernel.

Battery is draining quickly. From 100% to 60% in less than an hour and a half. Tried the CPU Spy app.

Showing Deep Sleep for 15% and 384 MHz for 79%.

Is this causing the problem? As much as I love JB, I want to be able to use it away from the charger.

strange. im getting MUCH better battery on this kernel than i did with franco/aokp combo

66% battery remaining, 6.5hrs on battery, screen 46%

About to try V3. Is it worth it to leave V2?

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

I'm still setting up, but it seems even snappier.

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Just flashed V3, my first Jelly Bean rom. How long does it usually take on first boot up? I'm sitting at 25 minutes here at the glowing X...

It shouldn't take that long. My phone only took 3-5 minutes to boot up.

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

I found out that whatever is causing the Roaming Indicator label to show up is the source of my battery drain.

I put my phone in Airplane Mode and cut the screen off for five hours. When I checked the phone, the battery had only consumed 2% of power.

The Roaming Indicator seems to be trying to constantly find signal or something to that effect.

So how do fix I it?

Yeah, ROM's are going to be coming out in rapid fire right now. Since I'm not using tibu, setup takes forever. I'm too busy to be setting up every other day. I'll stick with my current setup until source drops and we get some wicked ish flowing.
Loving jellybean right now!

Su is not included as this was a port from a stock ROM. Just download it from play store. GAPPs are baked in. It seems that jb runs smoother, better wallpapers lol. This is pretty stable for a port

I downloaded the JB Super SU.zip file and the Vicious-Toro- JB v3 zip file.
I triead to put them both the root of the internal storage.
I tried to move them in win explorer but it will not let me cut/paste there.
how else can I move them there?
USB Debuggin on and connect as a media device on

Thanks

Anyone having camera issues? I'm on vicious v2. The camera is actually too fast, it will take the picture before the flash completes

SU is baked into vicious....

I read that the file(s) should be in the root to flash, I can not put it them into the root.
does it matter?
I have flashed all the other ROMs from a folder.

When flashing this rom I get two sdcard folders. The usual /sdcard and /storage/sdcard0. I still have everything in the sdcard folder but its home root folder is the storage/sdcard0. Did I do something wrong? Has this happened to anyone else? Sorry for the confusing explanation, I tried explaining it as best as I could.

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

looks like i have the same thing

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

SU is baked into vicious....

so do the usual, nadroid, wipe, wipe, wipe, and wipe all clean and flash the Vicious zip, wait for reboot, set-up the phone, let all the apps download, and use the sms back up, nova launcher to reset my screen, and enjoy baked jelly bean.
this will be Sundays Project!
