[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

no, theres another step: after you wipe cache/dalvik, and wipe data/factory, you also want to wipe /system

also, your apps might not automatically download. they didnt for me, but YMMV. i just pushed them all from play.google.com

otherwise, same as flashing aokp

PS. dont go for nova straiightaway.... try out stock launcher, its quite buttery

Not sure if everybody has found this or not. But you can hold the home key and launch into Google Now from there

So GPS on V2 is not great. If you're in what appears to be a disaster area like I am currently with these storms, don't bother.

It shouldn't take that long. My phone only took 3-5 minutes to boot up.

I tried a couple times and couldn't get it to boot. Eventually gave up, purchased CWM, and started the install process from inside it. Passed out and when I woke up JELLY BEAN TIME!

From RootxWiki:
"(From numerous sources)
Using RootExplorer, go into the system apps, and rename Maps.apk to Maps.apk1.
Then go to the Play Store, and download the Maps app from there. Should work now."

Hope that helps.

Can you restore an AOKP nandroid once you flash JB? Looks like some folks are having problems with that.

Have you tried setting to North American ntp servers? That can help fix GPS issues. How are things down in your area?

I restored my AOKP b40 nandroid yesterday and ran for a few hours. Didn't encounter any issues.

Flashing risky roms is risky. Lol.

In case you haven't, backup everything you want from your sd to your computer NOW. Pictures, tibu backups, music, etc. Just be safe. Never know when you might have to do a factory image restore because, as we know, these ROMs are a tad unpredictable. :)

didn't have time.

Brutally hot, going to school or Starbucks to play with technology again. Battery very low lol.

Damn that sucks bro. Just saw it on the news. Hope you all get power back soon down there.

I am on Vicious 2 and I am liking the JB features a lot, but I am not noticing any significant performance improvements, and the OS has crashed three times.

Yes had those issues. Followed a tip in here, haven't had a chance to test it though.

Vicious V2 still running strong with zero issues so far. Looking forward to more from the devs in the coming weeks, i am loving JB so far! However we have no power or air conditioning since last night and its getting hot already...sending this while sitting in my car with the air blasting while my phone charges. :D
