haha, which part? the need to do recovery? or successful flash?
though lately i havent been doing nandroids, and have been DF without protection

currently running aokp downloading 2.2 jb right now how is it running for everyone or should i just wait?

To my fellow crackflashers: About to download JB 2.2 right now. What kernel are you guys running it with for best speed and battery life?

Everything is running just fine. Running TNP (trinity) 1344/384, Alpha 20.

If you wait for a bit 2.3 will be out with yet another deep sleep fix or gps fix or switching back to Beats or ......

Lol yes... its a mostly pure port of a pre-release OS designed for different hardware... with varying code changes to fix minor data/sleep/wifi/gps issues and random other stuff thrown in there......(btw, like every other toro JB ROM out there, lets not differentiate)

I honestly don't see deep sleep going away...no rom has fixed it so far and it's becoming way too intermittent to troubleshoot/develop.

Thiss...lol

All these upgrades and fixes and whatever for these ROMs, while I'm not talking down on the work these devs do and I'm grateful they do it for us... it's quickly approaching the law of diminishing returns with regard to how much can be accomplished with these ports.

Luckily for all us crackflashers, as dmmarck pointed out, we have good reason to expect the JB source code will be released within a week or so and once that happens we'll all be in for some real tasty stuff

Just downloladed Trinity 1344-384-JB17. About to flash it on my Vicious V3 with the stock kernel that it came with, that I've been running for a few days now. Do I need to wipe both cache's? Or should I wipe everything and start fresh?

1st off congrats on the push up from advisor to MOD! you've hit the big time now dmm.

and WOW to the story! so heres my question.. since I did the JB rom and showed the miss-es she wants one now, she due for an "upgrade" through VZW and I called and confirmed today. So does this mean the phone is only pulled from google play or all carriers? if it comes stock, I will unlock and root when she gets it so I can always flash and custom JB rom for her.

as for me I need the 2.2 maybe it will fix the DSP error I see fixed in 2.2 with volume+ app.

whats the easiest way to DF, and if I do the newest gapps only have to dl the maps, other wise all will be there?

Deep sleep working here, just getting comfortable with this 2.1 and then see an update and my first reaction was the last post I did, I'm good now, it actually wasn't all that much trouble to do.
