[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][7/6] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Get on trinity sons and daughters of Android, franco feels all sorts of sluggish compared to trinity (at least for my device). Also, interactive governor apparently "mirrors" stock JB governor in terms of speed/response. Could be an old wives tale, but it's one I'm subscribing to.

For Nova, why can't I move stuff around? I go to and only the option to edit/remove comes up. Weird.

Re: [GUIDE][7/6] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

to comply with google's policies. google apps arent supposed to be included with roms.
there was a whole cyanogen thing over this. :)

btw, 2.5 is running a little sluggish compared to previous versions, even axiom engage.
using francos 216 linaro, 384, oc'd to 1300, on demand.
switching btwn nova and stock launchers to see which is smoother. they're the same. neither are blowing me away.
trying a reboot now.

Linaro 217 is out.. but i'm seeing my battery going down slightly more than before.. not immensely, but I'm used to seeing 6% battery drop overnight instead of nearly 15%. So i'm going to switch back to 216 to see if that might be it, or if it is indeed the ROM.

PLACEEEBOOOO!!!!!!!! :-).

Seems to me kernels are definitely case by case for some. I switch between trinity and franco to determine the best....

Lately though, I am finding that I need to stop switching and experimenting, mainly because my girlfriend is getting pissed that my phone is going straight to VM.

Yeah I installed Trinity after the first boot and all is well for me, no more sluggishness.

i was flying on 216 linaro, havent flashed 217 i might try it out. used trinity for a while a week or two ago but havent been back since then. i have franco's app. i like his kernels. i dont want another kernel app! :) it's not the money, it's the clutter.

lol maybe so. I was also pissed at the music pausing thing, but it seems easy enough to fix in the franco app.

That being said, I love me some consistency with kernels lol.

Re: [GUIDE][7/6] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

i kept getting bad downloads with 2.5. actually, i had deleted all the old roms from my sd card like a boss, flashed the jb bootloader and wiped data, when i found out my jelbel2.5 dl was corrupted :( but i got a good download from the second mirror i believe, and adb pushed the rom to sd card while in recovery.

i was dl'ing on a computer btw, you might want to try that.

and check md5!!! or keep a jb nand/ or rom in your back pocket :)

should the mirrors have the same md5? as stated on the thread?

In theory, yes. I have a copy of 2.5 that I know works if anyone wants it lol. I used the Google Docs link, but I'm unsure if that's still there.

Just to follow up on my experiment but it seems that the 216 build has better battery life than the 217 build. Just an FYI.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean.... Whud UP!

Just booted up my phone after I had it on. Wow did it take a long time to boot up. Is this supposed to happen on 2.5?

Yeah the first time takes a while. Did you flash the jb bootloader or still have an ICS one?

Boot times may take a while.. it's case by case it seems.

Did you do a clean install?

Re: [GUIDE][7/6] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

That's the legally appropriate thing to do :).

Also, for those with sound issues, here's exactly why (pausing issues, mainly).

Just finished setting up my phone. Using Nova now so I can save stuff and be quicker about with the clean flashes!

What is the best way to delete that line he is mentioning? I tried with File Manger but it doesn't allow me to. Also, is it safe to flash the new bootloader..?

Probably in either Root Explorer (make sure it's set to read write (r/w) and not read/open (r/o)) or by dragging it to a PC, editing, and pasting it back.

Or you can use franco's app and turn it manually to 1.
