Re: [GUIDE][7/6] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Can anyone help explain to me how to install the Jelly Belly Bootloader? I see that its needed for Jelly Belly 2.6 --- in the direction it says to flash it first.

Any magic to this, or just run recovery and flash it? Is it ok to full wipe everything first? then flash the bootloader, jelly belly, Gapps, then franco in one swoop?

Also - do you need to flash the bootloader every time? Sorry for the noob questions - I couldnt find anything in the Guide.

Every bootloader I have seen gets installed with fastboot, not recovery. Maybe wugs does bootloaders, not sure.

Bootloaders get installed only once, and they stick around when doing roms.

JB Bootloader is not required to flash JB 2.6...correct me if I'm reading this wrong here folks.

Instructions from the RW thread state:

1. flash JB bootloader (if you haven't already - this helps JB roms, not required though)
2. wipe data (if coming from ANY other rom)
3. wipe system
4. flash ROM
5. flash GApps

If it's in a zip file then you can flash it in recovery, I flashed JB boot loader w/ a ROM, gaaps, kernel, and a mod all in one swoop, no problem, no worries.

If you look through the thread towards the end there when it released last night you'll find a gang of mirrors, that or Google mirrors for 2.6 Jelly Belly.

yep, the second mirror (Dev-Host) is the one I used.

Somehow the thought of its mirrors just went right over my head.. I must be as tired as I feel. Thanks all. :D

Thats how behind the times I am. I was kinda shocked when you could flash a recovery like twerp in recovery. So bootloaders can be done in recovery also. Thanks.

Cool Beans! HA! Have fun...I'm throwing everything on my flash drive and loading it up when I get home from work. just noticed there is a center clock mod available as well. I love me some center clock.

Jelly Belly 3.0 is up! AOSP from source.

Damn! Beat me to it.

Re: [GUIDE][7/6] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Yeah.. hold off on downloading and installing.. there seems to be some major bugs.

Yeah I was noticing that, have it downloaded but haven't installed yet, I can wait to make sure it's somewhat bug free.

Ditto... I'm fine with this hybrid 2.6 build.. it's working very strong right now.

Ah crap. This was gonna bust my jelly cherry. Till I saw ur edit. :(

Jellybean, Tapatalk2, and the Galaxy Nexus FTW!! ;)

Yeah.. sorry about that. I also jumped the gun on this release and nearly feinted (keeping it pg friendly), but reading reports on IRC, it seems to be the same issue that all other folks are having with their AOSP ROM's. And that's mainly with Google Now.

Where and what channel on IRC is this being discussed? I'd like to check it out.

Typed with my thumbs on Tapatalk2 (;))
