[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Stock kernel is the most responsive I've ever used. No lies.

Are you still liking CM10 best. I just downloaded the rom, su binary, and gapps. Just want your updated opinion before flashing. I'm pretty happy with BB, but as we all are I'm in search for the current best as we wait...

Yes. I don't think it has a peer ATM, to be 100% honest.

But honestly, to each their own :). The only major one I haven't flashed is Kejar's (well aside from NexusBEAN and Vicious).

My only gripe with CM10 is the amount of work involved to install that ROM with Root access and gapps. I'm going to hold off on CM10 Kang until AOKP comes out with their first JB build.

JellyBelly has some issues that I can't work with unfortunately. Namely the MMS over WiFi issue, which works for some people but not others. I'm one of the others.

And I'm kind of tired of doing a clean install over and over. I'm quite tired of the constant installation. This Kejar build is the most vanilla version of JB I could find until I get AOKP's monster list of features. Even though he no longer is under that support, and is actually working on the same project that Jake has worked or is still working on, I find his ROM amazingly stable.

Dmmarck:
I'm curious to find out. Do a test for me on CM10. Go to Google Now and state a conversion number... i.e. inch to cm. Then after you get the result, use the drop down values on the screen and change one of the values.... Does it Crash Google Now? I'm curious to see if this is a Google issue or ROM issue.

crashed on Bugless Beast as well

I linked Larry to it, check back a few pages.

(1) Flash the ROM
(2) Flash GAPPS (I'm using Jelly Belly's 7/14 package)
(3) Flash the SU Binary.

[INFO]You need 3 things to flash it.

The ROM ==> http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=cm10&device=toro

GAPPs ==> http://www.mediafire.com/?9bamq8w9z9qr95a

The SU binary ==> http://rootzwiki.com/topic/29834-cm10jellybro-toro-nightly-kangs/page__st__10#entry808990[/INFO]

^^ You should get rid of them grey menus and backgrounds in settings and apps like root explorer.

I found that the black background mod from ics works well. Its buried in the rootz theme forum. If you want the files, I can link them.

Flash Kejar's one time Dmmarck. Don't install any kernels after, use the lean kernel it comes with. You will be pleasantly surprised at how well the nexus performs.

These are zipthemer files. One is for popups and the other is for backgrounds. I been doing lots of experimenting and installing different mods and themes. Had quite a few bootloops.
But this zipthemer stuff is solid. Will work on any jb rom. You know what to do.

Mind if I eventually drop them into the OP?

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

You know you have to run them through zipthemer first right?

was going to try that first (since you said they were zipthemer files), needed to make a nandroid anyway, so I'm doing that now. just in case it does send me into a bootloop.

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

They worked like a charm for Xenon. Thanks Davey for the blackout files.

Just finished setting up the CM10 Kang.. Running nice, cool to have some options built in again, lol. Phone seems to be running wicked hot but that's probably just from all the use :)

BTW, new CM10 Kang build out. SU binary no longer needed. I'll let you know if you still need to delete Gallery2.apk.

No duplicate gallery here. This build is smoking fast!

Weird; what GAPPs did you use? Gallery2 is still in the ROM's zip...
