[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Oh yeah, I got the screenshots to expand BTW. Works with the Power Widget on and off.

Had to actually use two fingers. Explains why I didn't know about this until now lol.

Man, I feel so out of touch with what's currently going on in the JB ROM scene; I'm still on Jelly Belly 2.2 (or maybe 2.1?), AND an older Trinity kernel (I think the Alpha 20 release). There's so much stuff out there now that I don't even know what's what anymore. @_@ I'd love to be on something better, but at the same time, I don't want to have to go through the backup/ restoring process to wipe and flash a new ROM now, only to have to do it all over again when a solid AOKP JB ROM is out.

I know. Just made the switch myself after seeing so much talk about it. Had to see what it was all about, glad I did :-)

The e-mail one doesn't seem to work with my g-mail account, but my yahoo account will expand every time. Not sure why that is, but its a pretty cool feature even if it requires two fingers lol.

Lol step it up! The AOSP releases are much more solid than what you're running. I say you can't go wrong with Bugless if you want stock/stability.. but since you like AOKP and features then give the CM10 Kang they've been talking about a shot. I'm running it (version from a few days ago, been too busy to update, lol) and its very solid :)

Practice is the only way to make the restore/setup process get easier. Jeez I remember when I was helping test some ROMs earlier with my gnex I had to wipe my phone and set it up again like 2-4 times a day for a while haha.

I understand the hesitation, but there is a world of difference between the JB 2.x builds and the CM10's of the world. There are some really nice features on it. Worth the effort in the time being IMO. I haven't used a new kernel with it, but thinking about using a new trinity, that being said its still really fast without it. Well worth the effort....

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

out of curiosity is anyone having difficulty putting a new kernel on CM10? tried a few trinity 32's and 31's and it wont boot...

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

No idea, as I'm not on CM, but try wiping cache and dalvik in recovery, then install the kernel.

For some reason franco's don't work but trinity does. It might deal with RAMdisk stuff, I have no idea.

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Oh, no, heh, I didn't mean it was difficult, it just seems like such a time consuming thing, because I have so much stuff, and not to mention, I have to go through the settings and reset everything back the way I had it before a restore, plus, I like to use custom app icons on my home screens, so I have to redo the icons, etc. @_@

I've been kinda considering CM10, but is it really solid/ stable? I thought I saw someone say that data (or at least, 4G) isn't working on the builds, and that'd be a definite dealbreaker for me. I might have read it wrong, though.

I can't comment on the 4g issue, its practically non-existent around here so i leave it off. As for the rest i have had the least FC's of any I've tried (Xenon, Jelly Belly, BB). The kernel that it comes with is really quick and allows oc to 1350 for some more power. Lag hasn't been an issue except for when i was re-download all of my apps and even then it wasn't bad at all. I also haven't had a single random reboot on CM10, only been on for a day or so now, but that is my take so far.

Yeah LTE works great, it's just the toggle in the Power Widget that is non-functional right now.

If you used the 7/17 GAPPs and you want the Gmail expanded notifications, flash Kejar's GAPPs from 7/15.

Here's why.

How's battery life? Does it come with a T9 dialer? Does it have better music effects than stock? Just asking cause these are all stuff I have on jelly belly 3.6 right now but thinking of flashing CM10 tonight
