[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Using Jelly Belly with the JB bootloader. Still on the stock radios, can I flash new radios with the JB bootloader?

What radios do you have now?

If you don't have FC04/FC05, I suggest heading over to zero's radio thread, flashing those, rebooting, then flashing the JB bootloader (if you use the package with the bootloader + radios, your JB bootloader will be replaced; if you use the other package, your bootloader remains).

I have the stock radios. So it's fine to flash just the radios and leave the JB bootloader in place? Or should I have the ICS bootloader in place while flashing the radios? Just want to be sure. Thanks

Honestly, I doubt it matters either way. If it helps you lessen your worries, flash the package with both the radios and the bootloader--the bootloader comes first in the package, IIRC. Reboot, then reflash the JB one. All will be well :).

Yep. What he said... it doesn't matter. I've had the FC04/05 radios forever, and am still on the ICS bootloader. No problems at all.

Some peeps are experiencing long boot times with JB on the ICS bootloader, and flashing the JB bootloader seems to help them. If you flash your ROM and experience this, then definitely give the JB bootloader a shot.

Since I haven't had any problems, I haven't flashed it yet. If I do, I'm definitely flashing that bootloader.

I flashed the latest hybrid radios. We'll see how that goes. I downloaded the FC04/FC05 radios too. Thanks for the help.

I've never tried those. What's your baseband look like?

FA02/EK04

I'm seeing -112 to -105 dBm 28 to 35 asu at the house. I don't recall for sure but I think this is about the same as when I got the phone. It's been a while since I looked.

Canned the hybrid radios and went to the FC04/FC05 radios because wifi wouldn't work. Every time I tried to start wifi the phone would restart/reboot. The FC04/FC05 radios seem to be working well. Flashed with JB bootloader in place without issues.

Yeah I've never thought hybrid radios were a good idea, they should be kept on the same version, as well as the bootloader (even though most of us are on the not official jellybean bootloader now, lol).

I've been itching to flash for really no particular reason. I'm on skank cm10 and I've been there for a week or so, although it feels like forever.

Any suggestions to try? I've done vicious, jelly belly, aokp, and BB. Prior to cm10 I was on aokp. Is there anything else impressing out there right now?

No ones mentioned it here yet, that I know of, but is there MIUI JELLY BEAN out there worthy of a flash?

I have been on eclipse and xenon, both are good. Xenon is like aokp and eclipse has everything blacked out. It was cool for a day or so but then became to much IMO. Skank cm10 is the smoothest I've tried still...

I've been looking for something different, maybe I'll try these and then go back to cm10 15 minutes later lol.
