Download it, place on phone, reboot into clockwork recovery, install zip, find that zip on your phone, install, reboot system

You're going to need to fastboot it. If I had power I'd be able to help you, but unfortunately I don't so i'm like the Lawrence of Arabia of the DC area right now...constantly moving to find the juice!

You need to DL cwm touch for toro I think iTS version 5.5.04 or something.
then you put that in the adb folder that contains fast boot .exe
Put the su zip on your SD card and turn USB debugging on.
Connect tocpu with USB. Then boot phone into boot loader mode.

Next CD to your adb folder with terminal commands.

Then enter this command:
./fastboot boot nameofrecovery.img

That should work let me know if you need more help
I'm not home but I will be around five if you need clearer instructions.BTW that will boot cwm temp on your phone then you install the su zip in cwm.

That would just be like the procedure to do the unlock right?
If so I think I can do it but i just dont know the "file name" to use.

Are you familiar with fastboot?

If so...go to clockworkmod.com (or whatever the site is; google it) and download the touch recovery for our Nexus (toro). It is 5.8.0.2.

Then, get to the bootloader (all volume + power when the phone is off) and cd to the directory the file is in and then

"fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img"

For Ubuntu, it's simply cd'ing to the folder (like Downloads) and "sudo fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img"

Just make sure all of the drivers are installed and that you follow his instructions, but he should be able to make you right in a matter of seconds lol

You were right!!!!! I am now rooted. Now i need to figure out how to get JB on there.
