Hands on with the V20

Yeah, I have read that GPS was an issue on some G5s. This is what I hate about Android, great phones but we're already worried about issues before they even come out. This looks like pretty much a perfect phone for me, but hate having to worry about such potential issues.

There's other phones out there with GPS issues....even Samsung has had their moments.

but it's not the equipment that defines the task.

Gordon Ramsay can cook you a pro meal on a campfire with tools YOU hauled with you.

Again: if people are taking pro photos with it, then it's a pro device.

That has nothing at all to do with Android, and everything to do with paranoia.

Apple, Windows--pick your phone, you can sit there and worry to death about what might happen based on what has happened in the past, no matter how slight or insignificant.

It's pretty justified. I love Android, more so than Apple and iOS, and much prefer Google as a company. But there's one thing Apple does right, and that's support their products. That alone is peace of mind just knowing that IF something goes wrong you'll be covered.

Yes, Apple does support their products.

But when you go to do something simple and can't, no amount of Apple support will help. I've just seen too many silly things that I can do on my Android phone that my family can't do on their iPhones. And it's usually nothing more than Apple stubbornness--"you don't need to do those things, these aren't the droids you're looking for".

I will say, I won't have anything Samsung in my life ever again. If LG goes the same way with me, well, so be it. But I like their software and UI, and I might choose to mitigate that risk by buying into some sort of service contract that simply swaps me out with another phone.

Bootlooping doesn't usually show up right away so those of us that plan on buying one soon have no way of knowing if it's resolved. Won't stop me from buying it but it's a point of concern. I'm also hoping that it has a stable GPS.
Yep. 11 months of perfectly fine usage before my V10 but the dust due to bootloop a few weeks ago. Got my replacement through insurance which was only $5.

A someone who shoots for a living I can tell you that its just not true. A pro can a better job than a non pro but he can also do a better job with real equipment. Phone lenses and sensors are inadequate to use in the real world except for what pros refer to as snap shots.

Hopefully some announce date comes soon. I returned my Note 7 and am looking at this being my next phone.

I'm hoping an announcement comes soon as well. Hopefully we here more about release and pricing the first part of next week.

You and I both

Its very high on my radar as my next phone as well ....... I just need to feel it in the store to be sure it does have that " premium " feel !!

Tempted to trade in my note 7 for this granted it's released by Verizon's deadline. I'm just not sure because I love the OLED of the note 7.

I give a pro a disposable camera it doesn't elevate it to pro level equipment status. It's still just a phone camera. A lot of people try to get every ounce of juice out of something for the sake of saying see it's possible. But that extra effort would pay off even more with better equipment. This will be a nice phone and camera but I don't see how you can justify it being a pro camera.

Exactly

I'm curious if there will be any aftermarket options for a V10 style grippy back. I liked the feel of that in the stores, plus I think it looked unique.

I'm curious to know about the "hand grip" attachment the phone is suppose to come with according to the T-Mobile rep.
