Hardware Versions: 0002 or 0003? Also, HTC called me back about the screen issue..

Hardware Version? (I'm going to add 0001 and 0004 just in case)

0002 - light leakage under the search and back buttons. Also, it is starting on the lower left hand side of the phone... slight raising on the bottom right corner of the phone - where the light is leaking through. I really hope they fix this... I am losing some major respect, and faith, for HTC products.

0002, slight light leakage, screen isn't perfectly flush or recessed at the bottom, but this to me seems normal.

Out of curiosity, is the above what other people are experiencing? If everyone is having the same "issue" that I'm having, then everyone seems to be overreacting. In any case, if a real problem does develop, you still have a warranty and in-store swaps to take care of it.

Oh, and to the people that are stating that this is a $200 phone and therefore should be free of problems - people, this isn't a Vertu phone. I realize that $200 isn't chump change but at the same time, it's not a "fortune" or even THAT much money for an advanced device like this. You can't expect perfection for a phone that has THIS much packed into it and sells for the same price as every other "high end" smartphone.

0002 and not a single issue, ok one issue when playing a game for more then 10min it will stop the game and go to the home screen. ( not always) It brings back painful memories of my Pre, Oh noooo.

Previously I said I had no issues, but being in the dark I do notice the faintest amount of light leakage under the home and search key. I mean you gotta be using the phone in pitch black to notice these tiny slivers.

I hope what everyone else is reporting is far greater than what I have seen, otherwise people are just being too picky.

Myself and my roommate both have the EVO and both are hardware version 0003 and one has the issue with the screen not being properly grounded and both have the screen coming up on the lower left corner.

0002, minor light leakage, I wouldn't have noticed it if it hadn't been pointed out at this and other forums. No actual problems.

0003 Here. I'm not having any light leakage or lifting screen issues but I am definitely having the unresponsive upper half of the screen when not grounded issue.

I haven't been on the forums in a week or so and didn't realize others were having this issue also. I thought it was just me doing something wrong.

It's only happened to me if I have it sitting on the arm of my sofa and try to use it while it's sitting there and I'm not touching it except for the finger I am using to make whatever selection I am trying for.

Hardware version 002

Minor light leakage
Minor upper screen unresponsiveness when not grounded

And, this is the one that really sux for me..
When plugging into my cars aux audio input via the headphone jack, the Evo thinks it's a headset with a mic. Music apps stutter and stop and voice dialer activates. This is detailed in other posts.

When my car's sound system is powered off, the headphone icon shows, but when I power on car's amp, it will change to headset 90% of the time and screw up. May be related to the grounding issue. No, it's not my cable.

I'm in my car 2-3 hours a day and like to listen to my tunes. Pain in the ol' asseroo. Don't know if this will ever be right.

Grung, I know this isn't a full solution, but have you looked into Bluetooth streaming? Look up LiquidAUX Bluetooth, I have one and it works great with the Evo in my car.
