Has anyone used "fring" successfully for video calls w/ MSN, Google Talk, etc?

I learned about fring as an alternative to Qik for videochat. My first thought was to use fring as a way to do video calls while on the go.

However, while fring works great for IM, I've tried using it for video calls with users on both MSN and Google Talk and I get the error message "Video calls: Google Talk (or MSN Live) does not support video calls".

Has anyone been able to use fring for video on either of these two programs?

BONUS QUESTION: does Qik work with other IM clients or is it strictly Qik-to-Qik calls?

I haven't tried video chat yet, but I was able to receive incoming SkypeIn calls over 3G through Fring. That is a really good thing, as I thought I was going to miss that a bunch from Verizon (my girlfriend likes to call me over Skype, and the last thing I want her to do is pay for SkypeOut credits).

I was able to do a full on skype to skype video call over my wifi network with a friend in FL (Im in NJ) via Fring

I did a skype to skype Fring video call a couple of nights ago. Haven't tried the other clients.

Currently (and as far as I know), Fring video calling will only work using Fring-to-Fring or Skype. The other IM protocols are not supported through Fring.

But I will say that both Fring-to-Fring and Skype worked like a charm for me this weekend. :)
