Has anyone yet received 4.4.3 on their Nexus 5?

Hopefully this is not fake and the update will come soon

I Until yesterday I didn't know what everyone was talking about from the battery drain issue from mm-q-camera-daemon.

But that is only one idle battery drain issue.... Mine is just random and doesn't seem to be related to the camera services (at least I am pretty sure they have not been).

Honestly there is no way to know if it a fake or not.

Which brings me back to a point that I seem to make over and over. Google needs to learn to communicate better, how about a hey guys/gals we are working on an update to Android and will hopefully get it out the door ASAP, please bare with us.

Something, anything is appreciated over silence which breeds rumors, fakes, predictions and just creates level of frustration among their users.

IMHO spend less time on cute terms like dog fooding for QC testing and gives the public info.

I don't root but some people are going to blow a gasket if this is true. I don't understand all this but I may go back from ART to Dalvik just in case.

Finally, getting around the potential ART crash is possible. Developers would have to immediately test their root-using apps against ART and adjust accordingly, while end users who use root apps should temporarily switch to using Dalvik once Android 4.4.3 rolls out, at least until the root apps they use have been updated.

Chainfire foresees rooting problems in upcoming Android 4.4.3

Friday is getting closer and no new news has come out about the 4.4.3 update. Maybe it did get delayed who knows. Damn Google just tell us when it is coming out please.

Really wish they would add the ability to adjust the volume of the rine tone and notification tones separately. This just seems like such a simple thing and I can't believe there aren't more complaints about it.

I've thought of this too. Was used to from my S3.

Preface: I did not make any attempt to verify any of my seat mate's claims and I present them here without any warranty for accuracy.

Flying into SFO (San Francisco International Airport) and my seat mate claimed to work for Google.

We chatted about a bunch of Google related things, but in the end I came away with two distinct pieces of info.

1) 4.4.3 is being QC tested by many Google employees but not everyone and my seat mate indicated that friends of his who work in the Android group are saying that some fairly major bugs needed to be squashed before it could be released.

This again brings me back to a point that I make time and time again, if Google communicated with its customers regarding Android updates, even if just to say, hi, we are working on a point increase that should fix a lot of issues and we hope to get it out the door in the near future, I think people would be much happier, at least I would.

2) Admittedly it is off topic, but it seems there is a divide at Google regarding Social. Many feel Facebook is the standard and Google needs to compete, others and my seat mate being one of them feels that Google should devote it's resources elsewhere and let Social Media companies worry about Social Media. My seat mate indicated that he does not even have a Google + account and honestly doesn't even seen a need to have one.

Interesting 5 hour conversation, is it true? I have no idea, but it did potentially provide a little insight into what I would describe as a fairly large information blackhole that is Google.

You can go into sound > volumes > and uncheck "link ringtone & notifications volumes

Unless that's root only. I'm not too sure.

I couldn't agree more. I like knowing what is going on and certainly understand when targets and dates slip. I would rather know than not know.

And there are actually people like me, too, that have ZERO interest in "social" at all and are increasingly frustrated by what seems like Google's attempt to force it on us (for example, I can't even rate apps now, since I refuse to use Google+). And "Now" is just majorly creepy, to me anyway (and yes, I have it turned off, like most Google apps/services on my Nexus and photo tagging off, and location tracking off, and GEL replaced).

It's not in the basic OS and I suspect it is not merely a question of being rooted. Are you also running a custom ROM/kernel?

I get the no Social Media thing don't use it myself.

That being said I know many who like it and use it heavily as a means to keep in the loop.

As to being unable to rate apps for example, IMHO not a big loss, I mean if you think about it for ten seconds who is anybody really and are they qualified to make such judgements? My wife always says who are you (the you being me) and why would anybody care what you think.

Just my two cents,
Dan

Of course nothing on 4.4.3 yet there is plenty of news of them still pushing that crap 4.4.2 update to more devices which I feel sorry for when you are forced a buggy update.

I still think with Google announcements next month that they are just going to go right to 4.5.

Most likely we are looking to get 4.5 next month according to rumors. Forget about the numbers 4.4.3 lol

Funny if you actually think that we are going to receive 4.5 next month. They will announce it next month but no way we will actually get it on our devices for a while.
