Has HTC fixed the WiFi hotspot problems?

Been reading allot about how the phone drops 4g whenever the phone is used as a 4g hotspot, just curious if HTC has fixed this with an OTA?

Trying to decide between this and the charge. Was supposed to get a bionic but that's no longer an option, has to be one of those two (dealer line thing, dont ask lol). I like the tbolt better overall, I have a Vibrant 4g and I dont care for samsung's laggy file system, but I need good reliable hotspot for my laptop and tablet.

this is the first i've heard of this problem. when they were still offering the free hotspot promo my bolt worked fine.

I did plenty of research about the Thunderbolt dropping data during wireless tethering. Many people said they had experienced it. I have a Thunderbolt now that I tether with and it works fine. There are some slow downs some times and some drops but its not often. I can stream a movie on my laptop with no problems. I can't speak for roms but stock works.

I've been on this forum since the phone came out and the hot spot was never a very big complaint. Has worked great for most folks, so if you get a phone that has problems with it, just return it. Mine worked fine when I used it while it was still free.

I am one of those who had trouble with the hotspot. I am on stock. I have not tried it since the July update.

My TBolt has this issue but i've realized to has to do with what i'm doing with the hotspot. I can stream HD movies/tv on netflix and be completely fine, but if I try to torrent or just download a 100mb file it will cut out. Or if i just use regular internet sites like Tumblr, Google, Twitter Android Central or Youtube all is well and good, but the minute i go to make watch some porn (YES I ADMIT IT!) the connection will cut out. As far as gaming I can download a game update but the minute i try to play some multiplayer COD: Black Ops...boom connection cuts out. So i'm fully assuming that Verizon monitors the connection...then again i could be wrong.

I guess so. It has always worked fine for me.

Mine has the problem but there is a fix, at least for my phone. I have to turn Mobile Hotspot on. Use the phone info program to set phone to LTE only. Restart phone, turn Mobile Hotspot back on and the darn thing works all day long.
