Have a opportunity to get a pixel 2... Is it still worth it

Have a Pixel 2 XL for 18 months now. Never had any issues or problems & I practically live on it. Google has said it will receive updates for 3 years.

It has the latest operating system.
So my next will probably be a Pixel 5.

I have a friend who got a Pixel 2 at launch and he isn't going to give it up yet! It's truly a fantastic phone.

I have the 2xl, got it on a Verizon promotion for $240. At that price I can honestly say that the experience has been outstanding. I've been running the latest Q beta and it's been very very solid. When the finished version of Q drops in the fall the 2xl will be even better. It's fast, has very good battery life and that camera is top notch! The Snapdragon 835, 4 GB of RAM and fast UFS memory keep the 2xl humming. The screen issues? Completely overblown. It's sharp, saturated and bright. That's all you need.

I couldn't agree more. So glad that you are loving it.

is it worth going from pixel 1 to pixel 2xl? I have 77% of my GB used, though phone runs smooth. I'm happy with my phone, aside from the occasional lag

I gave my son a Pixel 1 and then gave him my Pixel 2XL when I got a new one. He loves the 2XL very much. He loved his OG Pixel. Thought it was the best phone ever. And now thinks the 2XL is the best phone ever.

If you only have 32 GB storage and you need more than a cheap 2XL could be worth it. The OG Pixel is getting Android Q so that is a positive.

If you get a new 2XL then you still get a 2 year warranty with it. So that is also a consideration. A new 3a would give you one year. Things to consider are price, storage and extra security and warranty.

I just love my 2XL. I bought a Panda in April because it was so cheap and I am in love all over again. My screens have been awesome and the performance is great. I don't get lag on Pie. But I am running Q and it is still a lovely experience. I got my daughter a Panda for her birthday when I got mine. She was on an iPhone 6s and she loves her new phone passionately.

Worth thinking about.

Im still using my Pixel 2 XL Its worth getting mines still working fine. If I don't update this Fall for the Pixel 4 , I will use it another year.

I still have the og Pixel sailfish as well.Still love it too.

Where did you buy your 2Xl's? Did you buy new from Amazon? I am thinking about picking one up.

You won't get a new one from Amazon, all you'll get is scam after scam after scam. Amazon is a complete and utter waste of time if you're trying to buy a "new" smartphone cheap.

Either watch B&H photo/video for great sales on pixels (they have them all the time), or pick up a pixel 2/2xl cheap through your carrier, or watch the Google online store, they have some great sales as well.

It's going to be hard to get a truly "new" pixel 2 now though, they've pretty much sold out all their stock. You can find some great deals on the pixel 3 series though, and the deals will just get better closer to the launch of the pixel 4's.

I agree with looking at B&H and about the sales regarding the Pixel 3. I am still using my Pixel 2 and love it - if you could get your hands on one, I highly recommend it!

I know this post is a few months old, but I just bought a used Pixel 2XL from www.swappa.com, so I'm reading up on what people's experiences with them has been. I've bought or sold several phones from Swappa and am very happy with the experience. My "new" phone arrives tomorrow and I'm excited to get my hands on it.

This is the first phone I've owned in probably a decade that a new model does nothing to entice me. I was a new model every year guy before. The camera is great. Battery is still great. Screen is fine. Not comparable to new Samsungs but fine.

64gb is plenty with photos app backing up full resolution files. No real slowdowns to speak of. Updates are first in line.

The 4 is going to have to really impress me but as of now I still don't have an itch for a new phone after about 20 months.

My P2 is still as fast as it was new ... I've never had a lag in the 20 months I've owned it. It REALLY is a darned good phone! I, however, am looking for a way to pay for the P4 ... I want a RED one! I know I'm silly, but I really do want a red one!! (The facial recognition and great screen, 2nd rear camera, doesn't hurt, either!)

Before i go for the 4 just want to see if i like the whole google system. like i mentioned have only ever had samsung devices. With regards to the 3 xl how is the battery life on that device. Just the notch thats off putting
I had an S7. Liked it a lot.

Pixels are not as customizable. That said, downloading a 3rd party launcher like Nova pretty much takes care of that issue. Some ppl love Pixels native launcher so keep that in mind.

Samsung Galaxys are really nice phones and I don't know that anyone could say the Pixel is better (in fact, generationally the S7 I had lines up w the 1st Pixel and the latter seemed not to get great reviews whereas I put my S7 on par w my wife's iPhone 7 in terms of quality). But I think it is safe to say that Google figured things out by the time they got to the Pixel 2xl. Just like I found my S7 to be a good trusty phone, I have found the same w this.

To me, the only advantage a Pixel has is timely Android updates. Honestly, though, the updates that matter are security. Unless you're super geeked about dark mode, there is no real game changer w Android 10. In other words, you're not missing out. But, I always feel like I'm missing out even when I'm not, lol. If it weren't for the security updates, there would be nothing keeping me loyal to pixels.

I love mine and I would definitely consider a Pixel again in the future, but if the price or some spec or feature seemed really cool in a Samsung, I would give it equal consideration.

I own few Samsung and Google phones .
The notch might bother some , for me a non issue as I do like notch phones. Battery life will be up to the individual as how many apps and what your doing with the phone. I personally have great battery life , I only have between 45 to 60 apps installed on the phone and do lots of YouTube watching. Maybe if you stop in a Verizon store or Best buy you can try out the pixel 3xl and see if it's right for you .
I think the 4 has no notch. Right?
