Have the Tab S 10.5, ask me anything!

Uh oh! Dumb question alert!
I have lots of music on my Microsoft Windows PC. I want to put some of this on my new Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet. How the **** do I do this? I have put Dropbox on the tablet. I can see files (on the tablet) that I put in Dropbox on the PC but a) I can't find a way to copy these from Dropbox on to the tablet and b) even if I could, I have no idea where to put them - or how to specify where to put them.
Is there another/better way to get music from the PC on to the tablet?
Can anybody help a silver surfer, please?
Thanks

Plug in the usb cable and the Samsung will show up as a drive (or two if you have an sd card installed). You can drag/drop files between the pc and tab.

Thanks again for replying to my posting.
1. Via plugging in the USB. Thanks for this - but where do I copy/move the music to on the tablet?
2. Which app should I use to play the music file (it will probably be in MP3 format)
3. OK - so the file can be accessed via USB connection, but if the tablet and the PC are on the same wifi network, should it not be possible to move/copy files wirelessly? That's what I was hoping for.
Thanks

I moved the music to my SD Card. But you can move/copy it to Internal Memory. The Tab will have or create appropriate folders and there's a "MUSIC" folder in both places. So you can copy music to them. While I have not specifically checked, you can probably move it anywhere you like and I suspect the "indexing process" will find it. I have my music in subfolders by either album or composer names.

I use the Music App to play them - it is a round circle with a musical note in the center. But you can also navigate to the various folders using the 'MY Files" app.

As for Wifi access, I agree with you that it should be easier. On my Blackberry devices, I have full Windows Explorer access to my files (both sd card and Internal) using wifi. It is just like any other drive(s) or like using usb cables. But so far I've not found as direct method for the Tab S (but again, I'm not a very knowledgeable Android user). I have used something called "Airdroid" which uses a browser interface on my PC and is fairly limited. There's also some app called "Wifi File Exlorer Pro" but have not used it a lot. So, so far, I've mainly used usb. Moved most music in one sitting (copied from my computer or from my Blackberry's folders). I've done the same for photo albums - usb, in the main.

While this thread is kind of a universal catch-all for questions, I think asking specific questions in a separate thread with a clear title might be more helpful. So starting a thread on how to move/copy/etc files using wifi might be helpful. This one covers so many topics that it can be hard to find things.

I wish to put movies on my SD Card and have installed Any Video Converter Professional.
What is the correct video size to get full screen display of the movie on the Tab 10.5

My Samsung galaxy essentials and gifts widget is blank. I can see the outline if the boxes but that is all. I'm able to click on it and it will take be to it but the widget is just a blank box. Just started happening today. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Yeah I have this problem too. I believe I deleted some images by accident and this is what caused it. If I hold it in portrait mode its fine but not in landscape

Happened to me too and since I didn't have much on my tablet yet, I did a factory rest and back it came. ....

I got ahold of customer service to which they told me to power off, hit the power and home key then toggle the right volume when it was powering back on. It brings up a menu where you are able to clear the partition cache. Still didn't work. Oh and the Samsung email that was sent was unreal. Not only does the email app from Samsung leave the words all jumbled together but the wording of the email seemed to be written by someone who didn't take English. I kind of expected a little more from Samsung.

Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me sort out Evernote. I don't use this app, and don't want to. I would like to delete it, but it's apparently undeletable. (Is this true - if not, how is it deleted). So I went into Apps and did a Force Stop - but the ******* thing keeps restarting and downloading loads of updates, messages, helpful hints on how to create an account and so on. It's making me annoyed.
How can this app be either removed or permanently shut down.
Thanks

PS : If it's not a Samsung app, which it doesn't appear to be, why does it have this privileged status (go to Settings, touch the Settings icon at top right, hit Uninstall/Disable and Evernote does not get the - sign on the app icon????)

Keys vanished on Galaxy S 10.5 !

Hi,

My problem began with Galaxy Note 10.5 and when I purchased Galaxy tab S it continued :

I have a game that I use daily.
since almost 3 years.
i had it on S3, and S4 and still working normal.
I had it on Galaxy note 10.5 (2) and was working normal up to a time that it stopped suddenly.
I went back to factory settings and it didn't work again.

I purchased the Galaxy tab S and it didn't work at all from the beginning !

This game when you log in, creates keys near the (Back and Menu keys) for its own functioning.
One major key vanished on both Note and Tab S.
I wrote to the App owners and told me that nothing from their side changed.

On the Tab, I uninstalled the App many times and, even went into going back to factory resetting and still the same.
Other keys within the application window still there.
The one on the outer frame near the (Back and Menu keys) doesn't exist anymore.
I went to display menu to change some items there but without result !

May I ask for Help here ?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Keys vanished on Galaxy S 10.5 !

Sounds like it just doesn't support tablets properly. In their reviews do other people complain about the same issue?

Re: Keys vanished on Galaxy S 10.5 !

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the normal RAM usage is for their Tab S 10.5? Mine is using 2.28gb of 2.71gb right now, and all I have open is Firefox with only one tab. I power down at least once a day and end all apps in the task manager multiple times a day. I use Lookout to scan for malware, it's never found anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

One question I have is if I get the wifi keyboard for the 10.5 s will it work good for taking notes at Church? I really like the screen resolution of this tablet, however I really need one at times to take notes, thought about getting a refurbished 12.2" note pro for about the same price as the 32gb s tab, have heard good things about refurbished especially those that have been done through the factory.

You mean a Bluetooth keyboard? I've got the Logitech keyboard/case and it works okay but I'm not using it as much as I expected.

Where are you finding that number?

The problem could be at their end. Work email systems sometimes strip out attachments, especially word docs for virus protection.
