Hi All - quick question.

Verizon tech support is telling me to turn on ny "HD Calling" to get better connection in my house (network extender no longer works with new phone). They are telling me it uses my wi fi connection to make calls now. Is that accurate? I didn't think verizon allowed for wi fi calls. Isn't the HD option only a way to "enhance" clarity?

For the record, it's now on and I do seem to be holding calls better...

I have never heard of this -- Verizon hasn't updated to WiFi calling yet on their network.

HD calling is NOT WiFi calling. It's an improvement to the voice network.

Android since v1.0. Linux since 2001.

I think the Verizon tech lumped all these newer technologies into one thing. Advanced calling is a component of VolTE; it is not WiFi. HD is a high-definition voice. I think the Verizon tech was oversimplifying the general concept. In a sense, it is similar to WiFi in that you can carry on voice and data operations simultaneously.
