HDMI out questions...

When I connect a micro HDMI to my computer monitor, the monitor displays that the video mode is not optimal (it wants 1920x1080). There's an "adjust video output" in the About Phone settings, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

I'm playing movies with MoboPlayer FWIW...

Is there a way to get HD out at 1920x1080?

I havent been able to test it yet, but it seems the phone outputs 480x720 content upscaled to 1280x720 pixel resolution.

like a SD video being stretched to fit the pixels of your monitor playing in fullscreen.

but some video content, like real 720p video and netflix, actually do play in HD

i think one person said his hdtv recognized a netflix movie output as full 1080p


Ive yet to try this myself though. im very picky about resolutions and ive been wanting to set this up forever. the cables are so damn expensive and i closed my bank account, cant buy even the cheap 3 dollar adapters from amazon...
