Headphones problems, please HELP..

So I'm on my 4th pair of headphones and I can't figure out why it;s not working with the mytouch 4g.

The weird thing is, the headphones and mic would work for about a week, but then everytime I plug in headphones, the Genius screen pops up and decides to dial my last called contact. Its infuriatingly frustrating.

BUT, when I plug in the t-mobile supplied headphone, it doesn't happen. The issue is, I prefer the bud-type ear plugs over the OEM ones since I drive a convertible. I can't hear a thing with the top down on the OEM headphones.

Any suggestions?
 
I had the same issue and first I didn't find the cause of it, for the life of me. It turned out that after longer use, the wire in the headphones broke inside (from wearing them in the pocket) right where the plug starts, and it made all kind of crazy connections: calling the last number, skipping to the next track or next radio station, etc. I haven't had that issue with the stock headphones because I didn't used them in a regular basis and didn't wore off. Maybe you have the same issue.
 
After MANY trips to Frys, I've finally found an in-ear plug that so far, hasn't triggered the Genius or call actions.
