If you're signed into your Google account
1. go to 'Ads Settings'
2. Click or tap the slider next to 'Ads Personalisation'
3. Doing this will turn it off.

This will solve your problem as it opts you out over Google Ads Services (eg. search ads) and around 2 million + websites and apps that partner with Google to show ads!

I had the exact same problem and this solved it straight away! I had tried apps that search for Push ads through apps on my phone but they didn't find it. I also did the going through my recent apps one by one and turning off notifications which didn't work and then uninstalling them one by one and still didn't solve it. It was sadly only once I had deleted some loved apps that i found out via Google search about Ads Personalisation opt out.
I'm sure this will solve your problem with unwanted ads.

I'm sorry, I don't understand. Where do you signin to your google account? Through Chrome? Or is there an app. I hate this Smart Charge thing with all its ads!

Please help me. Even as I type, every five seconds I get a pop up about "update flash player". I uninstalled the app, installed McAfee... Nothing works.

Hi,

I'm getting these ads by Google on my home screen. Even when I don't have any app opened. There is no item related to the as in the notification bar.

Are these default android ads or have I installed some app which is doing this.

Can someone please help me?

I got the same Google or "You phone is infected with viruses" ads on the main screen when you push the button to enter your password. I turned off data and changed setting, and nothing worked. Three days prior, I downloaded google calculator from the AP store. I removed the Google AP and haven't seen it since. You have an AP that's run by Google, remove that AP and the ads go away.

Welcome to Android Central! What's the AP store?

These ads appear over any app they seem to have permission to cover. I have tried most of the solutions suggested and nothing makes a dent.

If none of the above methods work, try going into Google Chrome >settings>site settings>all sites. Delete or change the permissions given to the sites. Hope this helps.

I got this problem too on samsung galaxy a5.
I got ads at the homescreen, sometimes in the middle of the screen or someimes in a corner. Is there already a solution? Otherwise i am going to try to do a factory reset

Guys.... Finally i found a way to get rid off from that sh**... It is very simple you donot need to download any application....
Just find the apps that are causing tgese adds... In my phone there were 4-5 apps that were keeping installing automatically no matter how many times i remove them... Few minutes and they jump in again
Solution:-
1.reboot your device
2.open security settings
3. Disable unknown sources(that allows to install apps from apk files or untrusted sites)
4.check your installed app and remove all those apps which are unwanted or causing these adds
I had 4-5 apps so plz make sure to check over all apps
Done.......
Now those apps wont get install in your phone automatically until you unknown sources is disable and no adds gonna pop on your screen!!!!!!!!

I suffer bad time with that add popup after sometime of add popup it was making my phone extremely slow it was taking 15-20sec to procees a command and i had to restart my phone to get it normal......
I made decision to reset my phone but after few hours those apps again appeared in my app list and i got to know that...

Reset factory default is not gonna work

So please donot perform factory default
Thank you...

I FIGURED IT OUT! :) I was getting really annoyed with the ads so i was determined to figure it out. First pic was my ads showing up on home screen and contacts and my games everywhere. Heres how to fix. Go to Settings-apps-then click on each individual little android dude looking app (yes there might be thirty or so but its worth it) - notifications-turn off allow peaking. Done. Notice the definition of having allow peaking on...

i have the same problem.
it's because you have added a shortcut of a web page to your home screen.
like appdroid.
delete it if you want the ads to be gone.

Thank you so much I would have never guessed this...been trying to solve my ad issue for months without factory reset.
