Re: Help! Can't hang up on calls! >>>>>SOLUTION<<<<<

I had the exact same problem with my LG G2 and here's how I fixed it. Most of the time it's because one of the tiny lenses on the proximity sensor is dirty (there's 2 - a sender and receiver). That is why vacuuming works sometimes. That didn't work for me however, so I had to clean the lenses themselves. To do this, you'll have to open your phone and find the proximity sensor. There are tons of places online that will show you where it is on your brand of phone. It's tiny and has two small round lenses on it. Pull it out (you may have to disconnect the flex cable from the board, but it's easy to re-connect) and clean the lenses with a queue tip. Also clean the inside of the screen where the proximity sensor goes. Mine had a tiny speck of double sided black tape stuck to it which was blocking part of one of the lenses. You might also want to vacuum (carefully and gently) the area. That fixed my phone, hope it works for yours.

I have samasung glaxy note II, and I see that forum had already found iut the solution, which was new for me, and I am giing to try it. Thanks fir the tips.
just want to add one nore thing from my experienc that I used to get this problem often , when my mobile data is ON , while recieving incomcing calls.
so keeping "mobile data off" may help or reduxe frequency of hanging up.

That with dial - menu didn't work for me, but chossing Accessability and then Use power button to end call, this works.

As so many people are reporting the same flaw, it certainly is a system flaw, thus a programming flaw. In my opinion, any programmer who brings on the market software with such significant flaw (you cannot END a call, we want you to pay for longer!!), should be SHOT. So that such stupidity won't make children and continue!

My wife and i both have a samsung galaxy since this febuary and have had problems disconnecting from day i. My most recent bill was £130 more than normal because my wife rang me and could not disconnect so our bill showed a 6 hour phone call from her to me. I did get my £130 back and both phones have been repaired ( hopefully ). As soon as we ended a call the screen went blank not showing the end call screen and no matter what button you pressed or ran your finger down the screen it would not end call.seems this is a common fault with others having the same problem,if it happens again i will be asking for a different phone for both of us.

I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure out a similar problem. When I got a call, I'd hear a ringtone but couldn't find the usual red/ green icon on the screen (i.e. I couldn't answer). The caller would leave a voicemail. I could call the VM, but never had the usual red bar icon to hangup.
I've read various hints, but none worked. Read one about deleting my phone data, but that was too scary.

A youtube suggested turning off "Automatic date & time" under settings, and it seems to have worked. I made one call and received one & all was normal.
Probably not a universal fix, but it seems harmless to try??

My Note 2 has a serious problem! I can't hang up on calls.

I dial a number and lets say I want to hang up before the call goes to VM -or the conversation is over and I want to hang up. Usually I take the phone away from my ear, the screen lights up and the option to end the call is displayed. No longer... Now the screen remains black, I can't hang up, and the home button and power button do NOTHING. I have to take the battery out of my phone to hang up or get any sort of response from the phone.

HELP! this is driving me nuts."Motion" is turned on. Don't know if that is doing anything.

Stock Verizon set-up, 4.1.2 JB.

You can put earphones in the phone while on a call and it should wake up
