HELP HTC ONE or GALAXY S4?!

Um, you did see the part where I said, "He should not take your, or my, experience with one or two phones..." I never said you shouldn't be heard. But I posted a site that listed build quality issues with the HTC ONE and you replied with declarative statements about two phones you own as rebuttal. I then asked you to be honest and admit that there were problems with HTC ONE build quality. I never suggested, or meant, that you shouldn't pass along your experience with phones you own. My point was and is, your, or my, individual experience with a phone is not representative of the totality of the information. The OP should look at the numerous reported problems with build quality of the HTC ONE (and the S4, although they are very few compared to the ONE) not just rely on one or two phone owners' opinions. If I came across as criticizing you for stating your experience with your phone I apologize.

Where is your source for build Quality issues with the one this forum, you should really stop posting things you have no solid evidence to back up.

I just played with the HTC One and was not impressed by it at all. Probably because I was expecting many things or got used to the S4. Can't say which one is better because I haven't played with it much but as first impressions go, S4 blew me away.

It's hard for a lot of people to admit to any faults in the phone they spent so much money on. A lot of people are going to rave about how they like the phone they have and not talk much about the cons or defects. I buy, sell and trade phones for extra cash and am fortunate in that I have owned and gotten to use a lot of phones. I'm not going to go into too much detail but here's my thoughts.
S4:
I was really looking forward to the s4. I'll get straight to the point here. Its built nicely. Who cares if it's plastic it still feels very nice in the hand and is very slim. The camera is nice. The layout of the camera settings is nice. There's a lot of cool features such as the option to create gifs and the option to erase objects out of photos. The benchmark scores were amazing. But that doesn't matter in everyday use. The display looks very nice. Very sharp. The battery life is decent. Its not the best but it's acceptable. The speaker quality was decent. Nothing to get excited about but not the worst either. The ui is where this phone just fails. It stutters quite often. This is why I gave up on this phone. Sure you can change your rom or just change your launcher. But isn't that kind of why you're buying the s4? All of the extra features? I changed the launcher, the rom, disabled all the extras. Samsung should have given me a discount or paid me for my time to try and make the phone function with lagging or stuttering. You shouldn't have to work so hard to make your phone work like it should to begin with, isn't that why you're paying so much money. Would you accept the same problems if you were paying 600$ for a laptop? Or a tablet? Then why settle for it in a phone?
Htc one:
This phone looks Sexy. You first pick it up and the feel of that cool aluminum in your hand is nice. I went through three of these phones. Every single phone it was build quality issues and every single phones speaker crackled and the phones got too hot. Every single one. Not one had this problem and the next had this problem. They all pretty much had the same problems. The ui was fluid and worked nicely. The capacitive touch buttons didn't work correctly. They don't always respond. I also found that occasionally the screen didn't always recognize my presses either. There's small things about the ui that could be better. The screen is beautiful. A little on the small side but still looks nice. Battery life is mediocre. Camera takes nice pictures and zoe is really cool. Who cares about megapixels. I've seen poster sized pictures taken with the One and they looked great. The interface takes a little practice and time to get used to. Especially if you're coming from touchwiz. No menu button? Why? Why would htc change something that has worked for so long? I would think a phone manufacturer would want to keep what everyone likes and improve upon what people don't like. Move forward. Not sideways. And all of the ones I had got too hot. I think the aluminum body contributes quite a bit to that. The metal feels good when cool but miserable when hot.
Note 2:
Love the build. Sure it's plastic. But the entire front of the phone is flush. No running your finger across the top edge of the screen when you check the notifications like the one. The speaker isn't the greatest. But it doesn't crackle! The screen looks great. Sure it's 720p instead of 1080p. But with screens this small does it matter? It may not be super sharp like the one but you won't notice in everyday use. Its just my opinion but the larger screen size more than makes up for the resolution. I have large hands and long thumbs and I can type almost 80 wpm with this phone. You'll also appreciate that larger screen when you play a game or watch a video. Battery life is absolutely amazing. I can seriously go almost two days without charging. I love not having to worry about my phone dying. I don't know how but touchwiz works flawlessly on this phone. No stutter. No lag. Camera quality is great. Take a picture with the s4 and a picture with the note 2 and they're pretty much identical. Except you can get a wider shot with the note 2. The s4 does have a nicer layout for the camera options. So what. I get by just fine with this camera.

I could go on for hours on what I like and don't like about each one but I don't want to make this post too long. In the end it's your phone so you get what makes you happy. If anyone has any questions about what I've said then don't be afraid to ask.

The HTC One does TOO have a home button. It's on the right, and looks like a little house...aka HOME.
The HTC One build issues are fixed if my Rev 4 phone is any indication. I have zero build issues.
My phone gets no hotter than my S3 did if I'm running a rogue app. It happens to ALL phones. I uninstall the running app if my phone gets hot and find a different one...Works every time.

My point is proven right here. People don't want to admit when there's a problem. Easy to just say ya it does this BUT I just do this to correct it. Well you shouldn't have to uninstall and install different apps to try and get your phone not to get too hot. And you're right it does have a capacitive home button. I am talking about so many different phones sometimes my facts get a little mixed up. It doesn't have a menu button. And not the already widely accepted three button layout. They could have not put the little htc symbol and put a physical home button and menu and back touch keys. But they changed it up. And to me, that doesn't make sense. Why take away even more screen by having to put a menu option there?

I've said it so many times. Google doesn't want physical menu buttons. Read my previous post in this thread for an explanation.

Still doesn't account for the fact that app developers aren't putting menu buttons in their apps creating the need for the black bar. You can say ya but they should fix it and they aren't doing what Google wants. But that still doesn't fix the problem. Maybe after all of the apps have menu buttons built into the app then change the layout. Until then I say K.I.S.S...

Google may not want physical menu buttons but obviously a vast majority of Android phone buyers do. I doubt very seriously if Samsung will do away with a physical menu button to please Google rather than satisfy their millions of customers. What is the benefit to Samsung to follow Google's desires on menu buttons? Samsung satisfies customers and the phones work just fine with developers who follow Google's plan and those who don't.

Well spoken. I could care less what Google wants. If they do away with the physical home button I'm not gonna like it. Regardless of what Google tells me to like. :p

I'd also like to add that to me it's much more convenient to push the physical home button to wake the phone up instead of having to push the power button that's placed on the top of the one. In my opinion that's another plus for the s4 or the note 2 over the HTC one.

You're point is wrong though. You're saying that he's lieingabout his quality issues. Like everyone's phone is going to be different. How do you sit there telling someone about their phone when you have no idea lol it's all opinion with the buttons and all but you cant sit there and saying there is absolutely definitely quality issues with your phone when that phone is not the phone you have. My phone doesn't get hot just like the other kids. My speakers have been fine since day one no crackling or anything.

Haha and this guy. Every phone has issues the buyer just have to decide which ones he can live with and without.

I'm going to assume you're talking to me. Do you not know how to quote or say a name? I actually did have three htc ones. So yes I did have that phone. I have one for sale right now as well. But I guess there always has to be someone like you who has to stir up the pot. Your phone doesn't get hot like the other kids? What kids? And I don't see anyone saying their phone doesn't get hot besides you. I'm glad you've found the diamond in the rough but every htc one I've laid may hands on has had one of these problems if not all of them. Who's point is wrong? Who said anyone is lying?

Try doing a reset and see if that helps.

How to Soft Reset Samsung Galaxy S4 android phone
Go to Menu > Settings > Accounts > Backup and reset > Factory data reset > Tap Reset Device to reset Galaxy S4 to restore to original settings same as when you bought the phone.

This will delete all your personal information. You can do soft reset If you want to sell your android phone or start fresh again with your phone.

How to Hard Reset Samsung Galaxy S4 android phone
You can use Hard Reset method If You can?t get past lock screen or If you forgot your android phone pin, pattern or password.

You can also use this method If your phone is sluggish or Phone screen gets frozen and You can?t access soft reset settings. Hard Reset is same as entering into recovery mode for flashing custom ROMs.

Turn off your Galaxy S4 phone using Power button. Turn on the phone by pressing Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time. You will see Samsung Logo on the screen. Release Power button and keep holding other keys. Release all keys when you see screen with options.

Using Volume keys, Move up or down and Highlight Wipe data/factory reset option and press Power key to select it to reset android phone. Your phone will reboot after reset.

I sincerely doubt the majority of people in the world are buying Samsung phones specifically for the inclusion of a menu button.
