Help please... should i do MR2 update on my TB?

Personally I would flash a custom Rom over this option. But to answer your question you would flash that for the mr2 update. You'll need to flash the new radio through hboot too in order to run that.

Yeah I've heard the same, some say it was the leaked radio others say its hardware. The version of GB being used for most of the Roms right now is an alpha build and devs don't have the kernel source code so it could be that. CM7 is aosp so not the same as the other gb Roms but I've also read someone bricked on that too so who knows. I've tried a couple of them and my battery life was terrible so I went back to froyo until the kinks get worked out.

oh ok, thanks for the heads up then... but the MR2 OTA update is out.. if i accept the update OTA , my phone will be unrooted right? so how do i apply the update from here? [ROM] Official 1.70.605.0 MR2 OTA Deodexed Rooted Busybox Mirrors Added :D - xda-developers, and should i even or just wait til 2.3.4?

Just pluck out the radio file from that website you posted originally and choose a different rom later. Remember to check that your baseband matches the screenshot on that radio download link via Settings > About Phone

I think you said you wanted CM7, but were afraid of bricking. GB builds like CM7 are pretty safe. I'm using CM7 now and am torn between this and going back to froyo Das Bamf 1.86.

Now that you're rooted, don't ever accept anything Verizon sends you because it can unroot you and waste your time. Most of the time the forums will have the same files released even before Verizon sends them.

That bricking warning was way overblown IMHO. You shouldn't be worried about that

There's some very detailed guides on how to flash ROMS/Radios up in the rooting forums here. I would read through those guides before you try and flash your first ROM

Ok thanks for the advice.. I went ahead and flashed cm7 mr1 on my phone but I did it through Tom manager because I'm at work and don't have my comp..I downloaded the gapps from this link The Official Thunderbolt ROMs & Kernels Listing v2.5 (Updated 7/26 12:40 AM CST) - xda-developers .. before I install it though since you have cm7 I figured. I'd get ur advice... when installing gapps thru rom manager should I clear cache and data and davlik cache?... thanks again for the help
