Help! I am a relative newbie at all this and have hit a wall trying to install Opti-Rom (heck even gRom) on my Optimus S LS670ZVH 2.3.3 running Build ZVH.41FEDAD5 (didn't know what numbers are helpful). Here is what I have done since I am sure I am missing a step or two.
1. Rooted my phone using ZVHauto.zip which worked and I gained a Superuser app. Phone was set to Debug and still is.
2. Made sure to run Xionia 1.2518.6 which came with the rooting and ran a backup (Thankfully too)
3. Downloaded Debug_Format.zip, Opti_ROM.zip, gRom_2.2.zip to my aftermarket 8GB Kingston in the root folder using the usb data tether.
4. Rebooted in xionia.
5. wiped data, cache partition, dalvik partition.
6. install zip from sdcard-choose zip. First I run the debug zip which completes successfully. Next I try opti_rom.zip and it hangs on opening update package. It jumps straight from that back to main xionia menu. When I reboot it goes to stock android setup with the Sprint ID.

I have tried many different things including wiping multiple times before installing from zip, different roms, flashing the rom without the debug_format. Toggle signature off. I know it has to be one button somewhere but not sure what I have done. Any help would be great since I need to do this to two other optimus s phones when I have done it successfully. Thanks.

quick suggestion, did you try re-downloading the ROM? sounds like a corrupted file to me.

Quick question, when you say you downloaded the rom and such did you put it in the root folder on your sdcard or not in a folder just on the card? I've always been told to put on card not a folder. Don't know if that makes a difference or not

I do not have it in a folder on the SD but just sitting in the main space. I'll try the redownloading of the ROMs and xionia after I get to a place with faster internet. Thanks for the ideas and I'll let you know what happens.

That sounds right. Just taking stab at it. That's all I had. Sorry I wasn't more help.

I will be honest, I almost never flash a rom from the root of the SD unless I side load it from my PC. When I download it directly from my phone I just leave it where it is and have never had an issue.

you can flash a rom or anything else for that matter from ANYWHERE on the SD card. The reason everyone says root of your SD card, is to keep troubleshooting to a minimum. I have a junk ton of folders with diff Roms and all flash fine.
