So just got my charge coming from DX so it not my first time rooting or applying roms. Its a little diffrent with samsung so still trying to get it down. I did root and installed the alpha v3 but wanted to start over because my batter was starting to get killed. Tried to go back to ED1 and start new I flashed it using ODIN everything seemed to complete ok but now stuck in bootloop please help what do I need to do to get my phone back.

My guess is that you still have the ext4 filesystem from voodoo lagfix. This happened to me once when I flashed the downgrade before disabling lagfix. I was coming at it from a different direction but here are my two suggestions. If anyone else has a better idea I promise my feelings won't be hurt :p

1. Try reflashing A3 and make sure to follow the steps to disable the lagfix before you reflash the downgrade.
- Not sure if it works the same as the usual voodoo but to disable you just put a folder in the voodoo folder of your SD card called disable-lagfix and reboot

2. Try flashing [ROOT] [KERNEL] [Repost of jt1134] Root,ANY build w/ Voodoo lagfix!*updated* and then disabling voodoo from there. After you do this you should be able to flash the downgrade no problem.

That worked perfect I did that booted justfine installed voodoo kernal then the stock ED2 debloated running like a champ now getting 1500 quad score from 450 thanks again

How do you disable Voodoo ...this happened to me also. I wanna be able to get back to stock rooted .

thanks.

Get the app "reboot button", has a switch for voodoo. There's a manual way to do it also, but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

Had a similar problem yesterday trying to access CWM. Phone stuck in bootloop and I had to reflash root and do a factory reset. Now I cannot flash the Voodoo Lagfix kernel. When I attempt to ODIN says failed and phone locks up and I have to re-flash root once again. Any help to recover the ability to re-flash lagfix would be appreciated

Same exact situation for me. I had used ODIN to flash the stock rooted ED1 then edited the build.prop and renamed the ota zip file. I then flashed the Voodoo Lagfix kernel and it worked like a champ. Then stupid me tried to boot into recovery and got stuck at the Samsung screen at boot. Ended up having to flash the stock rooted ED1, got to the recovery screen and did a factory reset. Finally got back to stock, reflashed the rooted ED1 with no problems but can't for the life of me get the voodoo lagfix to load again! Altered Beast will load fine and I can go back from it to rooted ED1..it's just the voodoo lagfix kernel I can't make work.

can anyone please clarify EXACTLY how you were able to get back to ed1 prerooted form altered beast...would be very helpful

what i did was disabled both voodoo and lagfix in cwm then flashed ed1 and worked like a champ, takes about five minutes to convert back to rfs though after that i installed the ed2 update, then the voodoo kernal for anybuild then voodoo cwm from same post, now im rooted on ed2 with voodoo kernal life is good. theres another forum that is specific to voodoo kernal here and xda

Lagfix has not yielded any improvements in the responsiveness of my Droid Charge. I've switched between the stock file system and the nfs lagfix file system and back. There seems to be no difference on my phone. I believe the lagfix is a totally unnecessary and unproductive modification of the Droid Charge. I haven't played with lagfix on other models, but I would suspect that whatever subjective improvement people are claiming to exist for the Droid Charge is an example of the placebo effect. I'm sure I'll get crapped on for this, but that's part of the process.

lol, me too, i did a speed test with voodoo lagfix after freezing all bloatware.... and still results same....if someone knows something we dont please feel free to enlighten

most lag comes from TWlauncher, and there is some placebo effect in there as many people dont do alot of taxing applications, but the when playing games or doing alot of multitasking it does smooth things out.

throw launcher pro on your system and go to the advanced section and set memory to high and you should see a drop in lag . but if you do this in combination with voodoo lagfix it becomes a beast . if you have seen my video in my thread you know what i mean or if you are running altered beast you know what i mean :)

Slightly paniced here. My wife's Charge on ED2 root/voodoo (jt1134s). Got a weird "fake event to work around a calender issue" on her gmail account calender on the Charge only. Searched around, but couldn't find anything definitive regarding that 'error'. Thought I should look at clearing cache so I got Quick Boot and tried to reboot into recovery (cwm). Now stuck on Samsung bootloop. Cannot get into cwm. Tried voodooChargeKernel4 via Odin. Same thing. Next tried disable-lagfix in voodoo directory. Same thing. No voodoo voices. Just the Samsung logo...

About to try AB4 just to see what happens... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Flashed AB4. Voodoo underway (presumably de-voodoo-ing). Fingers crossed that we'll boot out of this mess in a few minutes.

Voodoo disabled. Looking at cwm. Reboot. Pray.

Sitting at Samsung for quite a while... Boot animation! Thank God!

Booted! Yay!

Deleted disable-lagfix in voodoo folder. Reboot. Voodoo underway
