HELP! Stuck on Nexus Logo?

So my phone has been going haywire for the past few days, it would sometimes crash and then be stuck in a boot loop, but all I had to do was wait for it to end or pull out the battery. But today it's stuck on the nexus logo, I've tried recovery mode, but it reboots and gets stuck all over again. My phone is on stock, hasn't been rooted yet. And this happened once a couple of months back but all I had to do was clear the cache, now I've tried the same procedure but as you know it gets stuck again. Can someone help? I think I may be doing something wrong,

If you can get into the stock Recovery and nothing else is working. I would do a factory reset. Sounds like your phone is taking a crap.
usually when your phone wont boot.... its because the boot.img is either missing or corrupt. But the strange thing is you say your phone isnt Rooted. I didnt know stock phones could have a missing or corrupt boot.img.
The factory reset should correct that problem.
