Help! Stuck! Rooting

I think you have it backwards

RUU MECHA i flash first.. (Rename it first)

then around step 6, flash the PG05IMG.zip ? No?

yeah, sorry. long day lol. anyways, make sure you arent adding the .zip if it didnt have it on there when you rename because it will end up .zip.zip and not recognize it.

This was the problem I had. Took me 15 minutes of "WHAT IS GOING ON" and formatting my SD card and scrambling all over forums to figure out it X) **oops**

Its always the smallest things that we overlook that end up being the problem. Thanks for this info.

No problem. Let me know when you get a successful root

After I posted that it was updating, I did get sucessfull root, so thank you :)

Now, Im trying to figure out how to get rid of the bloatware - I know you can freeze them using Tb (pro?) or rename them with root explorer (.bak) I really want to get them off (but not deleted) moved to SD or what not, but I dont like that when I used Super Manager, and renamed it and moved it, its still showing up in app tray, and in /system/app list.

Hmm ideas ? :)

What i did is just move from the system/app list to the sd card. i made a new folder in the sd card and just moved them there, and that took them out of the app drawer. i also moved the .odex files along with the .apk or widgets

Yeah I wound up buying root explorer.. and I renamed them.. but blockbuster is still showing in app drawer (All the rest are gone, super manager didnt work like root explorer. I was being cheap lol)

Blockbuster.apk was moved to sd card, but also renamed and its still showing up in app drawer.. why? Am I missing other files associated with it?

its not necessary to rename them, because once you move them, they are off the system until you reinstall them. however, im not sure on the bb. mine just has the blockbuster_htc.apk

maybe restart your phone.

I restarted, thats how the other apps disappeared from the tray, but blockbuster is STUBBORN!! lol annoying to say the least.

go into Applications-Manage Applications and check to see if Blockbuster is under Running or All. If so, select it and hit uninstall. Ignore the error and reboot.
