Help tablet wont turn on!!!!!!!

My tablet was working slowly so I decided to shut down. Then came up a thing saying would you like to shut down. I tapped yes but it did not shut down so I just pressed the button for it to turn off and now it will not turn on no matter how long I press the button! Help me!!!:'(
