Ok so I'm trying Nova launcher (bought prime) and I can't figure out how to get the widgets right. It's been a long time since I've been on Android customizing and what not. But the stock samsung weather widget looks bolder on Nova than stock ui. Same with the optimizer widget. I really like Nova but want the nice thin looking numbers and letters. I added Weather widgets on my girl's S10 and my S10+.

The font seems the same my S10+ running Nova, she's running One UI.

Our phones are set on WQHD+, the Font is set on Smallest, SCREEN ZOOM is set to Smallest too and using SamsungOne font.

If that's not the issue try downloading HD Widgets. I used it before but happy with One UI widgets. Download the Colourform & Kairo packs too for it.

Hope this helps.

just went back to the stock icons through nova settings and still didn't work, I took the optimizer widget and set it next to app and the widget was bigger even though its a 1x1 widget
I see now what your talking about , the widgets I was looking at the icons .I dont think you can do much changing how Nova does the widgets compared to stock launcher with widgets.

I have great luck with HD Widgets from the play store. Gives you a number of customization options, including fonts. Easier to use than some other options as well. Once you install them, you add them just like any other Widgets even through the Nova interface / launcher.

So you want the numbers and alphabets to be thinner?you can try changing the fontbin Nova Launcher.

Thank you guys for all of your help, I did reach out to Nova Launcher and they said it is something Samsung does this to try and prevent you from using a 3rd party launcher. So I'm looking into different weather widgets now, definitely gonna look at HD Widgets.

I also tried out Action Launcher and it seems pretty nice as well, I like the little quick pop up screens when swiping over an icon, kinda reminds me of 3d touch with the iphone

Is Hd Widgets a paid app? I see one that is .99 cents

HD Widgets for the win. Super customizeable to make it look however you want (I match mine to whatever wallpaper theme I have going on).

Ok so I may have found another annoyance. My Samsung pay card/tab at the bottom of the screen isn't there anymore. Seems like it will be there after I remove nova from default but as soon as I make nova my default launcher it goes away. Any idea why?

Mine did this when I first updated to Pie, but then apparently spontaneously fixed itself. I have Nova and the bottom Pay launcher thing.

Nova launcher from what I've discovered online does not have DPI modification on android phones.

Apparently Samsung does this so people could use the stock launcher. When using widgets from Samsung on other launchers they have a bigger/bolder look to them which cant be fixed without rooting

Sorry if this been said already
