Help with recovering video

I accidentally deleted a video that I shot using the phone's camera. Is there any way to recover it, or is it gone? I'm using WiFi File Explorer and I'm finding old pictures that I deleted months ago, so I'm thinking the video is still somewhere on the phone or SD card. Any idea where it would be located?

Conversely, is there a way to permanently delete all the old photos that I thought had already been erased? I know they probably aren't taking up much space but it bugs me that they're still there. If I mount my phone as a hard drive to my computer and delete them from the DCIM folder, will they really be gone or still lurking around somewhere on the device?
