Great rom btw..jmust had a few questions that as far as i know havent been "completely" answered..i installed the htc_ime.apk with the clicker.apk via adb push and i cannot select touch input in the locale and text settings..thje only way i can change the keyboard is by long pressing a text box and changing it there..but that method causes the keyboard to quit instantly..also i cant get google voice search to keep from quitting when launched either by app drawer or widget/long press search key..any ideas or anyone with working apks of those apps? also if anyones up to it if people want to share their approaches to unvanillaizing this rom (for those of you who like the recent roms approach UI wise)..i have all the addons/sense/spring apps from the gumbo 1.5c thread but havent tried them yet..somehow i got in a boot loop after messing with those apks i mentioned..so i just restored a nand backup of a 1.5 rom i was using..thanks for you guys' insight

The UI elements from 1.5 won't work. You'll have to use apk's from an Expresso dump and edit their size.

Then you need to rebuild the boot.img so the framework is loaded. It's not a very easy thing to do.

i know i have made multiple posts and I hope im not starting to become annoying but gb, any news on bluetooth? or reason why thats not in the builds? is it something that just cannot be done until we have more code? are we missing something, or just needs more time?

Attention. Download and use these files ONLY if you have purchased a Sprint Hero and have license from Google to use their software.

And do not be surprised if this link goes away or the entire post gets deleted.

1. 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download CDMA_Hero_Dount_0.1-signed.zip

Wipe your data, flash this and boot your phone. This is the core and open source portion of this ROM. YOU MUST RUN THIS PORTION AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE YOU CONTINUE.

2. Next, download and flash this, WITHOUT wiping data
4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download CDMA_Hero_1.6_BITS-signed.zip

Reboot, and go through the Google setup.

3. Next download and flash this:
4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download update-superuser-1.2.0-signed.zip

this gives you a working SuperUser Whitelist. Don't skip this part.

4. Reboot, and plug back in to your computer. Via the shell, run these commands:

adb remount
adb shell
busybox --install /system/xbin
exit
adb reboot

This enables and installs busybox so third party apps that need it can run.

Now stop flooding my inbox and gtalk lol.

Anyone else having an issue of loosing your data connection after running this for a day? I have to reboot the phone to get the data connection back.

there is an issue with the ASOP 1.6 over on XDA where you would drop the data connection once wifi connected. Someone over there made a program that will re-enable the data connection. I think its in the market now, pretty sure it was called evdo fix.

Giving this 1.6 a test drive for a couple of days. Gotta admit, I'm a little spoiled by sense ui, but I'm slowly learning the art of android customization. So far so good except for a couple of things. My headphones worked the first time I tried them, but after a reboot they haven't worked since. Any ideas? My second, I pushed the files for the HTC keyboard (I'm really not liking the android keyboard) and it just repeatedly force closes. I would really like to use that keyboard. I'll try pushing those files again, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been having the 3g connectivity issue also. I downloaded the Fix Evdo app and it doesn't seem to work unless i do the following:

1) Turn off wifi (if it is on)
2) Turn on Airplane Mode (hold on the Power button until the menu pops up"
3) Run the Fix Evdo app
4) Turn off Airplane mode


that has worked for me every time. otherwise, yank the battery and wait for it to boot.

thanks so much for putting this rom together! I love it. I loved senseUI, but after running this rom for a few days i feel like like my phone is more responsive. My battery life is great and 1.6 is so much neater and prettier than 1.5. I am definitely looking forward to a nice finalized version of 1.6 to hold me over until the official 2.1 drops. thanks again and i hope this post helps someone

Anyone else have an issue of the ringtones not looping. Each of the ringtones seem to play once and not repeat. For example, digital phone ringtone planes one buzz, and then silence.

Also not able to record videos. Camera application freezes when you select record in video mode.
