Hey LG....take my money.....please!

Customers can also purchase the V20 on AT&T Next for $27.67 per month for 30 months or AT&T Next Every YearSM at $34.59per month for 24 months with eligible service.3

$34.59 x 24 = $830
Umm I hope T-Mobile will be different somehow. Is that price real? Wow.

It's real for AT&T without any sales, discounts, trades, etc. I'm sure there are mitigating things about it that we don't know about.

Yes I'm sure. The T-Mobile version does come with the H3 headphones for early buyers so maybe the pricing will be different. I think they waited too late to turn around and charge that kind of money for it.

With the new rumors or stories about a replacement Note going on fire in a plane ........ it may be yet another recall UGH !!

If thats the case I'm a bouncing and waiting for the V20

End of the month may be just the right timing !!

Maybe LG knew something we don't about the Note's? I know I'm going into conspiracy theory territory, but what if they saw this coming and hedged their bets with the delayed release in hopes that even more people will leave the N7 for them. Lol

Then their best move would have been to release in September during the recall as an alternative to exchange. IMO.

*IF* I were to pursue this line of thinking, you know what they say about first impressions. It would make sense to release with the most disaffected N7 users looking.

It's the difference between saying "LOOK WHAT WE JUST PUT OUT FOR YOU!" and, "We're still here!"

I agree with many of your bullet points, but the only one of them that's a priority to me is that Quad DAC. I don't believe at all that the V20 camera is better until that's proven.

Did the V20 switch to AMOLED? If not that's a second priority that they'd miss on.

Third priority, from a design standpoint, removable battery and microSD are both mistakes IMO and so on that front, the Pixel XL is doing better with more internal storage and a larger sealed battery.

Fourth priority, software, software updates, assistant, etc, etc. Don't think anyone will claim that LG's software is beating out Google's, but we can try.

Fifth, and above all, security. Google wins here hands down. The LG V20 is the one phone that comes closest to matching Google here, but the monthly updates will lag behind and it doesn't sound like the V20 has seamless updates, which makes it somewhat likely to EOL on Nougat.

So, LG V20 wins on Audio, Pixel XL wins on Screen, Storage, SoC, Software, Security, Battery Size, probably battery life (smaller screen, amoled, better software) and camera is unknown, but the only data we have is that the Pixel XL just rocked the camera standings and the V20 hasn't been reported on.

Almost missed this one, I'll respond anyway...
Like most things that go through benchmarking, the spec sheet almost always rules. Most of the reviews are subject to user/operator error so they don't hold any merit. Keep in mind when you run a benchmark test, the test environment needs to be consistent across the board for all configurations. Since we're benchmarking for picture quality, taking pictures of similar viewpoints or objects is not enough. You would also have to prove the configuration was the same across the board.

LG has always been for IPS LCD. We can debate which is better AMOLED or LCD.

The detachable battery & memory is not really a mistake. The design simply caters to those who would ever need the convience if the need ever arises. It simply gives the user options. The detachable parts leave room for expansion. 128 GB is simply not enough nowadays for most users. A couple of 4K videos + lossless music will eat up that internal storage then you would be forced to move some stuff to a cloud or to another hard drive. With the V20 you can go as high as a 2TB microSD. The same argument holds true for the battery size issue. 2 or more charged batteries will always out last your one Pixel full charge.

As for the software, you can't say Google will be competing with LG since Google owns the operating system. The only component that was done by LG is the UI skin which LG customized to their liking. Ultimately Google is responsible for any security patches that go into Android. LG & other manufacturers that use the operating system can have QA personel just to make sure the patches don't break anything. It's a process & people have to sign off on it. Major patches actually go through the carriers too nowadays since they also have bloatware to reapply when needed. The only advantage the Pixel would have is a slightly quicker update directly from Google unless your phone was purchased through a carrier then you'd be line like the rest of us for the update.

The software enhancement (Google Assistant & etc) is the only advantage the Pixel has over the V20, but that won't be for long anyway, it's only temporary. Just like how those updates have to trickle down from the top, the software enhancements will also do the same. The only difference being that the Pixel is sitting at the top as a prototype/ guinea pig lol

I can't believe you're crying about the price point now. It's still a bargain considering some the hardware features they packed into device. It should be no surprise since all the other competitors are within the same range anyway. If Google has the balls to charge 800+ for a few software enhancements, the V20 will do just fine. You should be just happy the phone is finally coming out...after all, you were personally calling LG (daily?) to get them to release the phone lol

Yeah I'm done. I'm getting the phone. It will be my phone for the next couple years. Despite LG doing everything wrong, I will be getting the V20.

Excellent choice RaRa!
I'm getting the V20 also. My V10 is still a bad-boy, and has served me well.

Yep. I think it's worth the wait and the money. I just wish LG had done things differently. Looks like the new Note 7s may not be 100% fixed either. Maybe more people will give the V20 a look. My V10 has been excellent. Took this photo last night.

This is My second unit with my original one randomly going into the boot loop issue. My guess and hopes are that the V20 finally will be the LG phone that is not plagued by any serious issues.

Wow that picture looks great, I love it. I would n't worry too much about the boot loop. If there's one I have noticed with LG...they keep on improving & setting the bar even higher with their phones. It could be much worse...look at the Note 7 lol

Yep the Note 7 is toast literally and will be featured in next summer's blockbuster movies with explosions.lol I'm a serious Note😉 it's really a shame for Note 7 owners because really was a beauty and packed all the bells and whistles most people need and want in a flagship. Just goes to show you that no one is above the reality of life that sometimes things fail. I think carriers are being fair in letting people choose another phone after returning the Note 7. This may be one thing that saves the "we got all the time in the world" approach LG seems to be taking with the V20 availability. Thanks. And for this scenario this is where the feature set of the V20 would really shine.

Another replacement caught fire.... Damn shame

Hopefully Samsung learns from this and brings back removable batteries for the S8/N8.....but I doubt they will.
