Hey Samsung Your Note 8 is too Heavy

I personally love heavy phones. The extra heft actually contributes to the premium feel and it also feels reassuring.

The one thing I dislike on the Moto Z I used as a daily before switching to the Note was that without a Motomod, it felt too light. My friends liked it but I didn’t as it felt too flimsy and fragile.

I'm coming from moto z as well; and I immediately liked the extra weight of the Note8. I think my pinkie finger has gotten a little weak over the last year though lol, it gets tired holding up the Note8. The sharp edges on my Spigen case doesn't help the pinkie either.

Thus I returned mine. I dunno how you can carry this around comfortably with a case on top of it. It's like a brick and most likely to fall on your face one day in bed and give you a black eye. On a side note, (pun intended) is there any difference with the akg headphone in the note VS s8?

P. S. I wish they can put a spen for galaxy s8 size like a mini note. Samsung, I'd be all over that. I love the spen.

Lol I hope I don't get a black eye! My first thought when grabbing the phone was damn it's heavy. I also have SpongeBob strength so that explains lol but now I'm very used to it. The phone itself makes up for it.

Yea, I went with the s8. Often times I wish I did the note but it's too uncomfortable in a jeans pocket. The s8 is a good size and does everything I want although I would love to have the note camera

I swore I wasn't going to comment, but I can't help myself. I'm a woman. My eyes about popped out when I read the title of this thread. I don't find this phone too heavy, in fact, I love the ergonomics of it in my small hand. I even easily put it in my left front jeans pocket (my preferred way to carry it around). If anything, the V20 I traded in for this was bulkier feeling to me. This feels slim and comfortable to me.

I'm not saying that the OP's experience isn't valid to them - I'm just surprised, particularly given many of these complaints are from past Note owners.

There's a direct correlation between the number of cases I have for a phone and how much I love it, I've just recently realized. I had TWO cases for the V20. I have 10+ for the Note 8 and still having fun window shopping for more. Yes - I enjoy dressing up my phone! :)

It surely is a heavy beast!

And I had to laugh when I read your comment on having it fall on your face in bed. I dozed off while using an 8" tablet about six months ago, and had the corner of it fall right on my eye. It DID give me a black eye and caused a small hemotoma in my lower eyelid that only fully went away a few weeks ago.

The honkin' case I've got on my N8 adds to the size, and I've had to adopt a different way of holding the phone when using the keyboard than what I was used to with my old S2 - yes, I came from an S2 to this monster!

But I really like the size of the N8 for actually using it. It takes up a lot of space when carrying it, and it's heavy, of course, but it really is handy to have the extra size for most use. But it surely does go against the whole idea of having a small, light, convenient-to-carry device.

The weight is appropriate for its size, but it is heavy to hold.

I think we may have to come out with an exercise regime and an app that puts you through a daily workout to build up your shoulders, arms, wrists, and fingers and teaches you "proper form" for holding these phones in ways that don't cause repetitive motion injuries, cramps, arthritis, tendinitis, etc.

Use your phones carefully, everyone!

LOL thanks for that story. Yes you have to be careful!

Definitely a little too heavy. My arm is getting bigger everyday with all the muscle I'm building.

But I love the Note 8 and don't really want to return it. I guess I'll just stick with my gains.

It's considerably more heavy than my iPhone, which was difficult for me to deal with in the beginning. Today makes a week since I got the Note 8 and after using it everyday I've gotten used to the weight. I can definitely still feel the weight, but I remember when Samsung phones used to be made of plastic, so I 100% love the build quality of the Note 8 even if it means it's a little on the heavy side.
No it's not. The iPhone is heavier than the note 8.

Weight. It is heavier than the iPhone 7 plus though by a hair. Made these with my note 8. :)

The Note 8 is 6.88oz (195g), the iPhone 7 Plus is 6.63oz (188g). The Note 8 is not a lot heavier, but you can feel the difference, especially after initially switching.

I have been thinking that for years! I would totally buy that phone. I do like the no eight but agree it’s a bit too big for my preference.

Well now....I feel better about my case addiction lmao. I love ton of options:)

I have accumulated a lot of cases myself lol I just love the choice of switching cases when I want a new look for my gorgeous Note8

Ikr Lol. Not sure what color you have but, I have the midnight black and I can have any color case with this phone and love that. Favorite color is blue but, an all black case on this phone looks awesome:D

I'm comfortable with the current weight, feels like a good sturdy phone, not cheap!
