Hi, all, I'm Jen. I'm living in the NYC Metro area. I have a bb pearl flip cause I wanted a BB in a smaller version. I love BB....but Verizon sucks and RIM ain't comin' out with anything new, unfortunately, that's got what Android's got.

So here I am, just transported over from Crackberry. I'm able to upgrade to a new device this week which is exactly what I'll be doing (although not without some guilt, lol)...

Anyway, does anyone have thoughts on the Pro v. the 2? besides the screen res, which I've already read about. I'm a SAHM but will be going back to work in about a year when my kid enters kindergarten (YAY!!!). so I need something that will give me the best of both worlds....I work in mental/behavioral health administration so I'm not in need of a major techie device - just one that can deliver e-mails through push (I have a Yahoo account but just created a gmail specifically for the Droid purchase), viewing and editing power of Office docs, and of course, a great calendar. I can play with one of these things and have fun learning on the fly as I go along. I don't think I'll have a big problem adjusting....right? :p

Thanks in advance!
JF

Hey Jen,
welcome to Android central and congrats on your decision on making your way over to Android. as far as the pro or 2, i dont really have an opinion on them as i have only worked with the Droid and Droid X. Now i own, a Galaxy S Fascinate and per prefer it over both of those Moto phones. but that is just preference, for a number of reasons... but whatever choice you make you will end up with a great phone.

Happy New year

If you like the keyboard on the Pro, go with that. Keyboard on the D2 isn't as good compared to the Pro or other BB.

But the DX might be worth a shot. I went to DX and I love it. On screen keyboard is great and accurate. But if your used to a keyboard then I would get the Pro.

Not sure about the Pro but the DX has QuickOffice and you can view and edit documents and excel spreadsheets but certain spreadsheets do not work. So far the password protected spreadsheets have not been working for me. But I downloaded Docs2Go and it works perfect but I cannot edit unless I buy the full version.

But I would give quick office a try before going to Docs2Go, might work better for you.

Any droid will not disappoint you coming from a former BB user and now I can't put my DX down for more then 10 minutes. I got used to it quickly.

When I had some issues with Quickoffice, I just opened them up on my computer and copied everything to a new word document and saved it and moved it to my phone and it has been fine since then.
