Highlight videos and Zoe help

Hey, so I'm loving the One but having some issues getting grips with the highlight video feature and Zoe's.

So on the weekend I went to my nephew's birthday party and it went well. I snapped pics, videos and Zoe's at the event and now I'm trying to get a nice highlight video of it.

The problem is that when I run a highlight video, all the Zoe's are always just a still image and never in motion, whereas the videos selected are always in motion. When I go to select content and just pick the Zoe's, the phone ignores my selection and just chooses random photos/videos/Zoe's to show, and again, the Zoe's are still shots, not the animated Zoe's.

Anyone know what's going on or how this can be fixed? I've played with pressing the 'highlight' button on a Zoe, but that doesn't seem to do anything (what is is even supposed to do)?

I like the idea of the highlight video and Zoe's, but the execution seems to be really poor. Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone help me out?

There is a bug in selecting content for highlights. To get around that you have to "split to" or "merger to" a different event (either existing or create during the split).

This way you can get it to use only the selections you want.

Remember the Highlight is of limited length, and I think you only get 13 items to select.

I don't know why your zoes are not moving in the highlights. Mine do. But I rarely shoot videos so that may have something to do with it, i.e. if you put several videos, it may only use videos for moving shots. Don't know for sure.

I think many of us are going through a learning curve on this and will have to help each other out as the functionality doesn't seem that intutive and the user guide doesn't help much.

I see. That would explain why selecting content doesn't work at all.

Damn. Because I have both really good Zoe's and video parts that I really want included in the highlight reel. But the only things in motion are the videos, which sucks.

Even when I make a new folder with only Zoe's and run the highlight video, it still only has the Zoe's as still shots.

This is driving me crazy. The hell is a point of a Zoe then? I'm better off just recording with video then just trimming out the stuff I don't want.

OP if you indeed have taken Zoe photos the few seconds of motion that are a Zoe photo should be included in your event 30 second highlight vid. Are you making sure you're in events and then hitting the play button on the top/first box which is the one that ends up being the 30 second highlight vid. there is a dedicated highlight section which is not where these 30 sec highlight vids would be at. make sure you're in the events section, and hit the play button...from there you should have the option to select content, music etc that will comprise your Zoe 30 sec highlight

I have had success sending some that - as originally captured - contained only Zoe's and stills.

ok yeah I know it was confusing at first for me so just making sure you weren't making the same mistakes as I. I don't have that issue at all. made highlights yesterday and both Zoe pics and vids showed up. hope you figure it out...tried simulating battery pull yet???

Mine works fine - have you pressed the upper frame? The first time I did I only got stills as well

What do you mean by press the upper frame? Where is it and what do I press? If you're talking about the frame at the top where the highlight video is, if I press it when I'm in the 'select content' area, it doesn't do anything.

Simulate a battery pull? How do you do that?

hold power button for around ten secs...buttons will flash repeatedly and then phone will reboot. simulates battery pull for devices sans removable batteries

If I press the upper frame in the screenshot above, it says "tap to include videohighlights" (or something similar in english), if it does - tap it, and you should be ok.

Nope, mine doesn't have that at all.

Sorry to be a pain, but where exactly are you seeing that frame?

It is The topmost frame when selecting zoes and photos to include in the share.
