Highlighting text in Chrome no longer brings up bottom bar to see search.

When I highlighted text in any webpage in Chrome, there was usually a little bar that pops up at the bottom with the same text on it, and I can pull it up to see a Google search of the same text. However, since I had a new phone, the little bar says "unable to connect to network". I'd really like to solve this. I had an Xperia 5 before, my current phone is an Xperia 1 iii.

I think that feature is related to the Google app rather than Chrome. Go to Settings>Apps, select the Google app, then Permissions, and see if any permissions are denied.

Try going to settings in chrome and then go to privacy & security. Find use secure dns and change it to Google's. Maybe

Also try toggling touch to search setting off and back on. Chrome settings->Google services->touch to search.
