Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

Actually, I don't have any beefs with how the new layout is, I kind of like how it's now somewhat mirroing the Google Now layout.

When you did a restart, was it a power down or something closer to a battery pull? I hate to do a full factory reset if I don't have to. I've got it setup very much how I like it, but if there's a good chance that will fix the problem, sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm relieved I'm not the only one to run into the black screen thing.

Just a power down.

Like I said, I'm just so used to the old version, maybe I'm finally getting older, and don't like change. :)

Also there are multiple versions of this, depending on the OS version you're using and whether you're on a tablet or phone.

Can't be sure what I downloaded.

I like the fact that you get route choices now when doing directions like it gives you in the Web version.

I've had my Hisense Pro 7 for a week or so an really like it (first tablet). I ordered the i BLASON case and that's really nice too! I also ordered a HDMI cable but two things are an issue when using the cable. 1) The video is a bit "zoomed" too much. The top of the image on the TV shows about 1/2 of the top icons that appear on the Hisense itself. 2) The other problem is no sound. Anyone else have either or both of these issues? Thanks.

On my Sony 55" TV everything is properly centered.
It may be a setting on the TV that automatically expands the view from the tablet
There is a setting on my TV that will fill the screen, but cuts off the edges.

Did you turn up the sound on the tablet and in the app you're using, Netflix, etc.

I remember from my ASUS Transformer, there being a problem with some TV brands that the sound would not work. I remember one was Panasonic, can't remember the others

a screenshot,please

Here ya go...

As described, what shows as black will flash or strobe on and off -black & white (the map itself), then eventually stop. The menu, search, result and 'my location' buttons do not strobe. Notice the copyright banner at the bottom of the screen. Odd how it goes into a gradation. After this happens some of the buttons will still seem to want to function, but the screen stays black. After a couple of attempts at using the buttons, the app usually crashes.

Have fun, interested to hear what you think. Thanks.

Thanks for posting. Glad it's not just me.

[EDIT: Wonder if any of the folks with the Asus tablets or other tablets that are roughly equivalent to ours are having problems? I hate to wish bad luck on anyone, but it would increase our chances of getting a fix if it's in the update]

The TV (Panasonic full HD 50" plasma) says the input is 1080P. I'm not to worried about the cut off part. I did increase the volume on the app (HBO) but no go. The app works fine with the built in speakers. Someone else supposedly used the same cable with their Hisense Pro 7 and I'm assuming it worked. I have another TV I can try.

Thanks. On my way to a nearby tax-free state Walmart tomorrow AM to grab one.

Re: above...May wait a few days to allow a return window into August as rumored new Nexus 7 is being released in Indonesia...rumoured at 2 GB, quad core Snapdragon 600, 1980x1200 pixels, 5 Meg rear and 2 Meg front camera, WiFi and 4G LTE versions, Android 4.3...

That's what I have in my Thrive AT100. So, if I copy my apps from my Google account and use my 'App Backup and Restore' archive, I should be able to put it on to my new 7" tablet I suppose. The only 'rub' is that data for noted restore app is on a standard size 32 GB SDHC.

Took the Maps update on my wife's Sero and it works just fine.

Discovered a quirk with my Hisense Pro. When I have it attached to my laptop (Win 7 HP) via a USB cable, the touchscreen is out of whack. Like it's severely out of calibration. As soon as I detach the USB cable, the touchscreen works fine again. Anyone else see this?
