Ho. Lee. Cow. What did Google just do? (Pixel C)

I'm a little more up in the air after reading some reviews, but I'm definitely not counting this out yet. Just not sure if I want to spend $748 for a 64gb with keyboard. The biggest thing I didn't like that I read about was how easily it scratches. Read that on Engadget.

Google ruined this tablet when I noticed that there is no microsd option or 128 GB option. Also I wish they had a wacom stylus to go with it, they missed the mark completely.

Those three things were already known - Also, they're making it to show Google's vision of how it ought to be, not Samsung's vision. For prior references, see the Nexus tablets.

I was wondering how the finish would hold up. Like any aluminium product scratches are inevitable depending how you use it. Mine will not likely leave the house too often so I am not worried about it that much. On second thought, this thing just might get me computing on the go more often :D

I wouldn't mind a faux leather case for just the tablet for times I know I will not be using the keyboard. So far there just seem to be sleeves that will be available later this month. I have plenty of travel packs for this size of a device from my 10 inch netbook days so that is covered. I think i'm just antsy to get my hands on it right now!

Yeah, I'm a little psychotic about the condition of my devices, though, so that does give me a little pause when ordering this. I wish they had a Pixel Protect plan like they do with the Nexus phones. This would otherwise pair VERY nicely with an aluminum 6P.

I agree. Traveling with the Nexus 6P and the Pixel C will be a great pair!

You can always get a Square Trade policy on it if you want. They are pretty competitive and close in price to Google's protection plan:

Tablet Insurance - Tablet Warranty - Tablet Extended Warranty

Absolutely. I like that combo a lot. And while people complain about the price, it's a lot cheaper than going the Apple route with the same type of set up.

And thanks for the Square Trade info. I hadn't even looked into that. That'll fit the bill just right for me!

Yeah now that I am looking at it I am considering it myself. I usually only insure my phone but it is not too bad of a deal for a 2 yr plan with this hummm...

Edit: for the tablet by itself it is $74.99 with a $75 deductible for 2 yr plan. That is not bad at all. I think I am going to see how it is and make sure I have a good unit before I consider insurance. You have 30 days from the purchase to decide.

That's a good price. I think I'll end up doing that after I get it and decide I want to keep it. I'm getting excited about this thing. I've been waiting for it forever, it seems like.

That AMA was a complete joke.

Granted, I knew it would be because no company ever answers the most important questions.

The only positive thing was about multi window support coming with Android N.

Yeah no company is going to just start throwing out info that is not 100% locked in. I dont know what people are expecting. It would be nice to have opinions and aspirations but this is their job. Telling specific company timelines before things are complete will never likely happen. The reasoning is if there is a delay people will freak out. I's say it is a safe bet that multi-window support will be in Android N. I will hope for it sooner but it is not a deal breaker for me at all. I get mine today!!!!

I'm just hoping Android N isn't being held off till the summer of 2016.

Since M just came out (relativley) I doubt N is anytime soon... Samsung has had multiple apps for awhile. So a technical limitation is unlikley I would think. They must envision some "next big thing" with regards to multiple apps.

I'd expect Android Nerds' features to be announced around July, N's name to be announced near September and for the software to hit the ground in October.
