Home Key - Complete Action Using TouchWiz Easy Home - HUH?

I have a solution! Well, Rick actually came up with it in his last remarks. I am verifying his solution. When you are forced to select between TouchWiz and TouchWiz Easy, if there any other apps showing, they are your problem! I had a Hotmail to Outlook app that was sitting in there and also Google Launcher (based on some bad advice on here). Once I got rid of those, then my problem was solved. You can verify this now in the Default App section too because TouchWiz is listed finally in Default section, not in option button area. Took me hours. For now on I know to go to last page of advice article like this so I don't waste my time on people who tried a method and did not wait 5 minutes to see if the problem was really fixed. P.S. I have a Samsung Note 4.

Thanks!! this worked for me on GS6 model.

ive cracked this, go into settings default applications and to set defaults. clear everything on there EXCEPT touchwiz and easy touchwiz - you should only have those two to choose from. Now select touchwiz so it has a tick in the box then press home (central) button and hey presto the most annoying pop up box is gone. Nothing to do with google or anything else mentioned on here. thanks and goodbye.

Thank you so much!! This is truly the only solution I found that actually works. Worked on Samsung galaxy S6 edge.

Fixed.
When I went to application manager I noticed I had the Hotmail app as well as easy home and default. Deleting the Hotmail option worked.

Ok guys so i made the account only to share you the same problems on my S4 and how i fixed it and im pretty sure it will probably help you.

So on Settings go to More, select Default Applications and there press on Home and you will have Touchwiz easy home and TouchWiz home. Select the Touchwiz home.
PS:
If you have something else in the Home option from default applications beside the touchwizz home and touchwizz easy, DELET IT . I had a Christmass songs application there and everytime i tryed to select Touchwizz home it was never saving the setting i did. Since i deleted that i successfully selected Touchwizz home and the setting remains.

Just like Caytee said, dam you, i didn`t read your post and lost all this time to write all this mambo jambo :P

I also been having this problem as well for about two weeks, I just went to SETTINGS than go to GENERAL thank click on DEFAULT APPLICATIONS, there you should see SET DEFAULTS, Click on HOME,and click on TOUCHWIZ HOME. This seem to fix the problem, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it works. Oh and I do have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Good Luck

It's either an app or an update that is preventing your default selection from staying. In my case of downgrading from a Note 2 to a Note 4 (yes I said "downgrade") the app was a Hotmail app. Never had any issues like this with my Note 2. If anyone knows where I can get my power on/off button fixed-as in replaced- for a Note 2, I would gladly appreciate it so I can get my $832.00 back for this stupid Note 4. Battery can't even last one day without charging even after disabling all background data, apps, and placing it in power save mode with the screen on dim and timing off after 5 secs of inactivity. This phone is sickening. But like I said, check your downloaded apps and see which one is doing it. If anyone has a Note 4, the app named "Connect for Hotmail" icon is an orange envelope, it will cause this ridiculous issue. I cannot say the same for the whole Google speak app thing as I don't use it.

Best of luck on your unnecessary journey through "Troubleshoot Land"

Hi guys.
First of all im sorry reply is so late.
I used s4 and now note 3 on which i face this TOUCH WIZ pop-up problem.
The solution is very simply DELETE hotmail unofficial version. Just after uninstalling select ALWASYS. It will never appear again.

(Plz note if you are not using hotmail app go to homesceen setting and see if there's any other launcher other then EASY mode and ANDROID . Uninstall that app. And your problem will be solved)

All others things like deleting file or clear cache don't do nothin..

Uninstalling the Connect for Hotmail app got rid of those annoying touch wiz pop-ups when pressing the home button.

That happen to me after I installed a live wallpaper. Even though the wallpaper wasn't active at the time, it still prompted to pick a touchwiz screen after I hit the home button. The problem went away once I uninstalled the wallpaper. The way you know is go to Settings>More> Default Applications>Home. Once you click on HOME, there should only be two options (touchwiz home and touchwiz easy home). Anything else is probably causing a conflict in your phone prompting you to choose everytime you hit the home button.

Eureka!!!!! This was the answer for me. I had some hotmail home page on there as well, and would not let me select either versions of TouchWiz. It was the ONLY choice I could delete. I deleted it, now it stays on TouchWiz. Hopefully, this ends my frustration. How it got there is a mystery, but if something pops in there again, at least I know to just delete it.

Thanx Rick!!!!!

I just encountered this same problem a few minutes ago on my Note 4. I know what caused, too. I just installed some Live Wallpapers and one of them causes the TW Easy Home option to keep showing up... even if you selected the regular Touch Wiz as the default. I deleted that Live Wallpaper and it seemed to have cleared up the problem.

Hello, I' am going a little "crazy" and am trying to figure out this problem. I've tried to contact Facebook support and no reply yet in about 2 days. So,Screenshot_20160413-225437.jpgScreenshot_20160413-225437.jpg I have this error Message (NullPointerException:Attempt to invoke virtual method'com.facebook.omnistore.CollectionName$Buildercom.facebook.omnistore.Omnistore.createCollectionNameBuilder(java.lang.String)'on a null object reference)

I think I received a message from somebody on my question, but I am looking for a deeper meaning at the moment?

I'am 24 years old living in Franklin, TN and I am diagnosed with quite a few things and going through an excessive amount of mania and just looking for help?

No doesn't work, when I select the "TouchWiz Home" option, I hit the "Always" button and every time I lock my screen or as soon as it locks by itself, I unlock it and it does the same thing, again, and again, and again...

If the "easy fix" didn't work...then I'm guessing you are using something like a background app. When you pull up the menu the others suggested, is there a third option? If so, delete the third option (it should have a trash bin to the side. Tap that. )

Hi, I had this exact problem after my lovely 5 year old Daughter got hold of my phone and decided to download kids mode thinking it was a game.

After going through lots of selection in the settings. I have found the perfect solution without having to delete anything (apart from Touchwiz)

Settings > Personalisation > Easy Mode > Select: Standard Mode and Done > Press the Home Screen key

I did this on my Galaxy S5

Hope this helps and there will be no more tears
