Home screen search by swiping down

[Android Central Question]

Relatively new to Android. In the beginning, I was able to search for songs from the home screen search option (songs which I had in my own library/storage). To be clear, by this I mean that I could swipe down on an empty area of the home screen to bring up a search screen and then type in a word. Any song with that word in the title would appear and could be selected. Now, song titles no longer appear in this search. What might have happened here? Can the search 'index' be rebuilt/refreshed to Include music in local storage? Thanks. I'm running Oreo on a Huawei P20 and it's not rooted.

Hi, I've tried both Evie and Microsoft launcher and no luck.

Welcome to the forums. I'm not sure if this search is specific for the P20 or based on Google search. Just in case, open the Google app - side menu/hamburger icon - settings - personal - make sure 'Music' is checked on that list.
