Question How Can I Delete Multiple (i.e. hundreds) TIF Files All at Once When I Tap Images?

When I view the photos on my pixel 7 pro I get the following screenshot. Sorry, but I don't know exactly which app I was using to get it. Is there a way to delete all of these files without having to select each one individually? That would be a long, long process...

That looks like the Google Files app, which does have a Select All option. Tap the 3-dot menu icon at the upper right. You should see a Select All option there.

When I tap Files > Images (where stored all of my folders that contain the image) and then tap Menu > Select all, all of the images in Images are selected. Because I haven't found a way to sort by file extension (i.e PNG, JGP, TIF), I have to go through an deselect all the non-TIF files. If I could sort by file extension like I can on my desktop) I could select all of the TIF files and then delete them, leaving everything else. I used File Manager + to delete the unwanted TIFs. That app doesn't have a sort-by-file extension either.

S'pose I'll just have to get used to the fact that Pixel phones do not have the sorting capabilities that desktops have had since Windows 3 came out . (I wonder if other phones have that capability.) Anyways, after spending a few hours I finally was able to delete most of the TIFs.

Try Total Commander, which is tried and true, and completely free and ad-free. I've used it for ages, and it continues to be a reliable file manager. I just tested the wildcard search, and it works, so you should be able to search for *.tif files that way.

I think I fixed the problem by turning the backup function for videos and images off. Then I went through and removed all of the duplicate image files and now I have exactly what I want. Sorry I can't provide the details on how I fixed it, bue to my short near-term memory.

I am getting used to File Manager + and am very satisfied with it, but will try your suggestion about Total Commander and see how it works.
