Android Central Question

Samsung Galaxy S7. I have downloaded the Oreo update a few weeks back, but I have not installed it. The notification is persisting and it's getting annoying. I want to remove this download. I want to keep receiving security downloads.

I have tried to:
-open settings
-open apps
-show system apps
-find "software update". There are 2 of these in the list. Opened the first, went to Storage, cleared data. Noticed no difference. Opened the second, went to Storage, but option to clear data (and cache) is greyed out.

The reason I do not want the Oreo update is that the info that comes with the update is not clear: "some" apps must first be updated manually and the way this is formulated makes me suspicious. This discussion is a bit off topic, but I hate it when system updates are not able to identify the apps which must be updated first. Recipe for disaster, is what I read.

What can I do?
