How can unlock my Huawei 6x phone if I can't remember my password?

I've tried locking and changing the pass word from Find My Phone on Google accounts and failed, and there doesn't seem to be any other way besides completely resetting my phone. Help!

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, there's no way to retrieve your password -- you really need to remember this kind of thing. Find My Device can only set a remote lock if the phone didn't have a screen lock set in the first place.

On older phones, if you failed the unlock process enough times, it might ask you for your Google account and password, but I don't think more recent phones do this any more. What happens if you fail the unlock multiple times?
